We went to the annual Teddy Bear Toss game last night, where everyone brings stuffed animals and tosses them onto the ice after the Monsters’ first goal. The animals are donated to children’s charities afterwards, and this year they collected more than 30,000 of them - a new Cleveland record!!
Monsters hockey games are fun to begin with, but the added element of the Teddy Bear Toss made it extra memorable!
Put this one on the to-do list for next December! (The Teddy Bear Toss game usually happens in the week before Christmas.)

[ad] I recently made the short trip to Columbus for an overnight trip filled with holiday vibes, thanks to. If you’re interested in following in my footsteps, here are a few things you can do to truly soak up the season:
First, shop small for the holidays. Columbus has great local boutiques and shops (plus North Market) in the, or you can head to German Village to get lost in the 32 rooms of the Book Loft (a must-do if you ask me).
Then, head to for the night. This super vibey hotel right across the street from COSI is decked out for the holidays, and you can book a Winter Haus on the rooftop for the alpine dinner of your dreams. The greenhouse chalets are the epitome of winter cozy, and you can enjoy special holiday drinks, fondue, and even tableside s’mores.
Lastly, check out some of the free holiday light displays around Columbus, including Wanderlights downtown. The lights around Columbus Commons especially make for a great stroll after dark - I even spotted the Big Man himself here!
And there’s plenty more to do, too, including holiday lights at the Columbus Zoo and Franklin Park Conservatory, the holiday train setup at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, and even holiday displays at COSI.
