Even though we couldn’t really celebrate properly today (because of me getting sick (like really, really sick 🤧🤒) forcing us to have to cancel having Stefan’s family over, we made it work.. just the three of us (and Lilly, of course 🐈) in our tiny, cozy little kitchen. And most important, he was so happy to have his cake and new presents and that’s all that really mattered in the end 🥰🎈

2025 started out with a lot of big milestone birthdays like Milo turning one 🥹and Stefan and I both turning 40 (we’re 3 weeks apart, I’m older 🙃). I went back to work after a year at home on maternity leave which was reeeaally hard, and Milo also started daycare (förskola) 🥳 It’s been so fun to widen our social circle as we are two people who are mighty good at being antisocial hermit crabs together 🙈
We mostly spent the rest of the year juggling our work schedules in order to get Milo to and from daycare (not easy when both parents work similar hours 😵💫) and we also took some really fun trips, too (like Copenhagen in August where we met up with my mom for a few days!), and the biggest, of course, was two plane rides to LA to see my whole family and our friends for Thanksgiving. 🧡
There were a lot of downs this year.. a lot of personal tragedies, too, that were really difficult to process.. I don’t know what 2026 will bring, but I hope it will be more joyous for everyone and that personally there will be much more time spent with my loved ones because if 2025 taught me anything, it’s that time is fleeting and family is everything and all I really need to be happy 🩷 #2025recap
On another note, it was so much fun to see Milo playing with all of his baby friends in LA 🥹Some of his favorite things to do were to try donuts for the first time (they’re not really a thing in Sweden), play with my parents’ new puppy Billie, escape every photo opportunity (see my last post 🤪), check out the lights at, say hi to Mickey and the gang at downtown Disney, and so much more. We had so much fun on our two week visit and I can’t believe it’ll probably be another year until we’re back again, but that’s the reality of living overseas. ❤️🩹

We have about a week left before we’re back in dark, cold Sweden so I’m savoring every last bit of the sun and warmth that I can 😅Today will be spent eating lots of leftovers (including the best corn soufflé, courtesy of and my brother ’s pumpkin tiramisu which was 100/10) 😍

All of our costumes came from our closets aside from the guitar which I found second hand on Vinted and I’m very proud of that 🥳Also, Stefan as Ed Sullivan is almost uncanny! He’s a natural in front of the camera! Who knew? 😂🎵

We took a road trip to and a little stop into the cute town of Alingsås a few weeks ago and the day was filled with lots of cozy goodness including: fall themed treats, bookstore visits and seeing the leaves start to change! 🥹
Oh, and the last photo shown is the outside of a doll & stuffed animal museum! Should we have gone in? Has anyone who lives locally ever been to it? Maybe we will check it out next time 😅

To say that the past seven years have been a journey is an understatement (as you can probably see here 🤪). It’s been a lot of ups, downs, and in betweens. Lots of lonely days, dark cold winters and sadness about being so far away from family, but I love it here and feel really lucky to call it home. ❤️
