Two very different weeks. One focused on consistency and showing up. The other felt smoother and more confident as mileage increased and fueling became more intentional.

On to Week 6. 💪

Week 5, Day 7 (Run 6) ✔️
Long run Sunday and 17km on the schedule today and it felt good. A quick washroom break and a treadmill reset because apparently 60 minutes is the max… as if most people are running for hours 😂 then right back to work.

But we aren’t most people. And I’m pretty sure most people already think I’m a little nuts. I’ll happily take this kind of crazy any day.

Week 5 was exactly what I needed. The biggest shift was being more intentional with fueling. What I eat, when I eat, and how I fuel around my runs. It’s starting to show and I’m listening.

Week 5 done.
Week 6 let’s go. 💪

Week 5, Day 6 (Run 5) ✔️

Very easy run on the schedule today and for once… it actually felt easy. A smooth 5km and exactly what my body needed.

Tried to get it done early. Up early, baked oats ready, headed to the gym… only to realize my headphones were dead. Immediate nope. Back upstairs for the because running without sound is simply not an option. 🎧😂

Despite a not-so-great night of sleep, this run felt good. Honestly, this whole week has felt really good. I’ll save the official verdict though, long run waits tomorrow.

A reminder as we head into the weekend: get some movement in and do something your body will thank you for. 💪
Week 5, Day 5 (Run 4) ✔️❄️☃️

Medium easy run on the schedule today. Not entirely sure that 15km with strides qualifies as “easy,” but we’re getting there 😂

A rare night of good sleep made all the difference. Up early, baked oats (half before the run, half after), electrolytes, and a cup of coffee before heading down to the gym. Sometimes it’s the simple things that set the tone.

It’s wild how our bodies adapt. What once felt impossible slowly becomes normal. A 15km run before work might sound a little insane to some, but it’s my rhythm now.

A good reminder to pause and recognize how far we’ve come and how capable we really are.

Happy Friday friends!

Don’t forget to get some movement in and do something your body will thank you for. 💪
Week 5, Day 4 (Run 3) ✔️
Snow day ❄️☃️

14km of run repeats on the schedule today, which meant a date with the treadmill. I swear we’re in a full-blown love hate relationship. Run faster and it shows a slower pace. Run slower and somehow it speeds up. Make it make sense.

Either way, the effort was there and the work got done. The treadmill war continues.

Up next: a medium easy run (what does that even mean 😂).

Stay warm out there it’s a full-on blizzard. And if you can, sneak in some movement and do something your body will thank you for. 💪

Spring race countdown is on ⏱️

🇬🇧 London Marathon - 101 days
🇨🇦 Toronto 1/2 Marathon - 108 days
Week 5, Day 3 (Run 2) ✔️

Easy 10km on the schedule today and this one felt really good. Maybe a little too good… considering 80% of it landed in zones 5 and 6. Clearly, I’m still working on mastering the “easy” part.

Lessons noted and moving forward.

Happy Wednesday. Don’t forget to get out and do something your body will thank you for. 💪

They say great things happen when you step out of your comfort zone. ✨
Well this was definitely me stepping out of my comfort zone. I debated about posting these pictures but then I thought it’s no different than my vacation beach pics. And these have special meaning. ♥️

This is me celebrating my hard work not only physically but mentally.
It took time, dedication and consistency over many years to get here and looking at these pictures (that are not photoshopped) makes me so excited to see how far I have come and excited to see what is next…

Sometimes we aren’t happy with ourselves because we are constantly comparing who we feel we should be or what we think people want us to be.

It’s frustrating not to feel good enough and to always have that feeling of needing to be someone else. Funny thing is I’ve worked really hard to be the best version of me.

This week I got to celebrate ME and how far I have come on my journey and I did a photoshoot that was way out of my comfort zone! 🙈📸

I may not have started my journey on #BestofYou however and your incredible team & have helped me reach some major goals and I am forever grateful ♥️💪🏼
