2026 is the year I’ll fall in love 🫶🏻

With myself all over again. Learn to love my individuality, my laugh, my smile, my personality, my quirks. To let myself stand out and appreciate my own unique things. To let go of comparison and focus inward on who I am.

A year to be kinder to myself and see how falling in love with yourself can really change everything 🫶🏻
Welcome to my new chapter

New at 32 🫶🏻

2025 was a rough year to say the least, I know the snake bit me a few times throughout the year and then took one last final bite right at the end

I’ve learned more about myself than ever the last year even through all the really rough patches

I learned I need to face my problems head on, running away doesn’t help, that you’re never truly stuck and I also learned how therapy really can change your life

2026 is a blank slate for me, I have absolutely no idea what life will look like this year but I’m optimistic for the future for the first time in a while

I’m slowly finding my footing again and working on building a life that’s mine & makes me smile more

So I’m not gonna lie and say I’m not scared and somedays I still cry, but I also know I’m being led the exact way I need to by the universe one step at a time 😊

So here’s to the new chapter 32 and year of new beginnings ✨🫶🏻
Am I at the beginning of my butterfly effect?

The other day I was sitting thinking about how one decision really can change your life completely and when life completely pivots and flips upside down it’s hard to see why it’s happening

But literally everything in life has a purpose, a meaning and leads you in your next direction

Starting over at 32 was definitely not in my 2025 plan but I’m learning to trust that everything has to happen this way

So I can look back one day and say, I understand why this happened, I understand the hurt and the pain because it all lead me to where I was meant to be

But it’s a strange feeling being in the place at the beginning of your butterfly effect. Where you don’t see the outcome yet, you don’t know why it had to go this way and you’re just hoping one day to understand 🤍

Some things will stay with 2025

I think every year whether good or bad, we learn lessons that help keep pushing us forward towards the person we want to be.

2025 was no different, I traveled more than I have in a long time, made some absolutely incredible memories and also had some major bumps in the road. But as we move, we learn and 2026 is another chance to write a beautiful new chapter 🤍
My best piece of advice ✨

Move. Don’t wait for anyone to tell you it’s a good idea or for yourself to feel 100% ready

Getting out of your bubble and into the world is literally the best thing you can do for yourself to push forward and create the life you actuallllyyy want to live.

Moving is scary, leaving behind the unknown yeah it’s hard but once you do it and the world opens up to you, you’ll never look back 🤍 leaving the US 6 years ago was a whirlwind and no planning could have gotten me to where I am today. Best decision I ever made 🫶🏻

Lil Christmas Day in NYC 🎄🎅🏼

It isn’t the Christmas season for me if I don’t go to New York, I feel like it’s one of the best cities for Christmas. I also haven’t ice skated in 9 years which is crazzzzy

We stopped at for some delish lunch and festive Christmas lights and ended the night dancing on tables to Christmas songs at

Favvvvv holiday of the year, besides my bday of course 😂 can’t believe it’s only 10 days till Santaaaa 🎅🏼

2025 was not my year ❤️‍🩹

I honestly never could have envisioned this is how I’d end 2025. I never really saw this as a possibility

But I guess life leads and pushes you where you need to go even if you so desperately disagree.

Saying it is hard is an understatement. Starting over at 32 was never in the cards, and to be honest I don’t even know what it fully means yet. I don’t know what the next few months look like or how life will shape after all of this.

I wasn’t even sure I wanted to share this part of my life but I always try to be honest with what I’m going through living abroad and this is now a big part of my story. So I decided to so I could try and slowly start to heal through this whole breakup process.

What the future looks like, I genuinely couldn’t tell you. Just taking it one day at a time ❤️‍🩹
I’m 31 (32 next month) and I’m not married, own a house or have kids…

Because I chose to prioritize living abroad and traveling but I’m not afraid to admit that

1. I feel an insane pressure to sort out the whole kids topic because of the lovely thing called a biological clock. At this moment I don’t want kids in the near future but at the same time I’m nervous if I wait too long I might not be able to and might regret that

2. Even though I’m living my dream life abroad, sometimes I still compare myself to people my age with traditional careers & promotions, cars, houses, etc and wonder if I’m just not where I should be

3. I’m afraid I’ll never be happy living a normal settled life. Even moving to Barcelona, after a few months of not traveling I feel the need to leave and go travel somewhere new. I’m worried I’m constantly on the chase for newness and won’t find happiness in being still

4. Sometimes I wish I had the stability of a paycheck from a normal job. Being self employed has so many pros but there’s a lot of instability some months and it can be quite stressful

5. I have no idea where I want to permanently live. Right now I’ve lived in Barcelona for 2 years, we have a little over a year left on our visa. I’m so unsure what the next move is, if we will renew the visa or if we won’t. I don’t think I want to live in Barcelona forever but I don’t actually know where else I’d want to live. It honestly stresses me tf out constantly

6. Being far from family never gets easier and the guilt eats away at me but I’m truly not happy living there so I don’t think there’s ever a solution that won’t be hard. My heart wants to be with them but my head knows I’m happier living in different countries

I’d never change the life I chose or the path I’m on now because I’m getting to do all the things I always dreamed of doing

Buttttt that doesn’t mean there aren’t those wtf am I doing moments or the negative thoughts that creep in

But I guess that’s all apart of life right, figuring out how to handle it all 🤍

Moving abroad is scary 🥹

But it can also be the absolute best thing in the world 🫶🏻

In the beginning there will be struggles or moments where you just think “I’m going home” out of pure frustration or loneliness

But as time goes on, it gets easier

And you start to meet your people, find your routine, your fav spots

And you begin to make your own little life abroad 🤍

If you’ve always dreamed of being able to actually live in Spain like I used to always do, then listen up!

I’m an American 🇺🇸 living in Barcelona 🇪🇸 and after being here for over a year I’ve learned there are several ways in which you can move to Spain as a non-European citizen

✨ Digital Nomad Visa:

This visa came about last year and allows those who are contractors/freelancers, self-employed or remote workers to move to Spain for up to 5 years! This is the visa I am currently on!

✨ Student Visa

As a student you can come to Spain and live here while studying. Different visas have different lengths and hours required per week so it is always worth it to check it out!

✨Non-lucrative visa

This visa allows you to live in Spain for one year with the chance to extend your visa. This visa requires you to have over €28k in your bank to prove you can support yourself as you are not meant to be working.

✨ Be An English Teacher

Many people come to Spain to teach English or be a teaching assistant so they can move here. I’ve met so many people that first moved to Spain to teach English and have now lived here for years with different jobs & visas.

✨ Be in a relationship with an European citizen

Now this one obviously isn’t open to the general person to just go and do lol but if your partner is European/has a European passport you can apply for the Pareja de Hecho which allows you to move here for 5 years!

I saw a video the other day doing their own spin on the trend of “looking for a man in finance, trust fund, 6’5, blue eyes” to a version of looking for a man from Spain, good job, etc so they could move to Spain 😂

✨ and lastly you can apply to jobs that are here in Spain!

Although not always easy, there are many business hubs in Madrid or Barcelona that have English speaking jobs you can apply for to try and get sponsored. Definitely the hardest route but you never know!
