This region of Italy along the Adriatic coast is famous for their yellow and maroon sails, each painted differently so wives would recognize their husbands boat coming home from fishing. Along with its seafood, it’s known for their strozzapreti and, of course, their piadine, not to mention their hand printed textiles that date back to the year 600.
This is Bellaria Igea Marina, and I was visiting for La Borgata Che Danza 💃🏻 A 4-day event with traditional music, dancing, and lots of regional dishes over the weekend of Festa Della Repubblica. 3 years ago, I met my now business partner, Giorgio, through a mutual collaborator. I’m in Gargano, Puglia, in a fishing town called Manfredonia, known for its taralli, olive oil, and of course, it’s pasta. Here, artistial orecchiette with broccoli rabe are the favorites, and a 30 minute ride into the countryside will have you in the citrus capital of the Adriatic 🍊
Whether it’s crystal seas, southern Italian comfort, or some of the freshest seafood that you’re looking for, you can’t miss these 4 experiences in Manfredonia this summer:

One of the many beautiful aspects of being a content creator promoting authentic and sustainable Italian travel are the incredible oppertunites to be invited to exclusive locations here in Italy, including this one that I was blessed to able to close my birthday month off at, alongside some of my closest friends and collaborators.
As much as I’m not into gate keeping the beauty in my country and pride myself on promoting travel to villages in Italy that are off the beaten path, this has remained a private residence, so I am not able to publicly share the information about this castle. My family is originally from the south of Italy, (Sicily and Naples!) and immigrated to NYC. Growing up in a Little Italy neighborhood, I dreamed of returning to my motherland. At 19, I signed a modelling and acting contract in Milan, got my dual citizenship, and never looked back! I had finally returned to the place where my heart belonged: Italy.
Then something unexpected happened.
I began featuring in global campaigns for Fortune 500 companies such as Coca Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Hard Rock, Colgate, and Mastercard, and acting in films for Universal, Warner Brothers, and Netflix. I had bases in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and in America, all by the time I was 24. At first, traveling internationally was exciting. But soon after, I started to have a strange sensation...
I felt terribly homesick. I started looking for pieces of Italy in every country I was in. Visiting Italian restaurants in Bangkok, Cape Town, and Dubai was a quick “bandaid” fix, but it was not enough. At 30 years old, I had to be honest with myself: I wasn’t living my truth. I decided to change my life as I knew it, and make a return to Italy, in search of true happiness once again.
My leap of faith paid off, and I’ve been living back in Italia happily now for over half a decade. Now I use my 15 years experience in front and behind the camera, microphone, and on stage to help businesses create authentic Italian content. I’ve even had a weekly segment on Italy’s top station, Radio DeeJay, speaking about my Italian-American experience!
Now as I journey through Italia, finally filming projects that are true to me, I receive questions on social media about how to travel here!
