I love Brazil. And even though I technically grew up in São Paulo, the best parts of my childhood happened on my family’s farm in the countryside. Horses, homemade food, sunsets, bonfires, my siblings, my grandmother playing the guitar.
Now I’m living my dream life, but almost every night before falling asleep, I picture myself sitting on the grass. I can hear the horses in the background, smell the scent that sugarcane leaves in the air when it’s being harvested, and feel the air cooling down at the end of the day.
I guess this is just a post to calm my soul, but there’s nothing like being home.
And the worst part is that I know if I ever leave France, I’ll probably feel the same way about here.
Maybe that’s the downside of getting to live so many beautiful lives. You’re always missing home, wherever that is.

A gente fala muito sobre sentir falta da família quando mora fora. E com razão. Mas esse post é sobre casa.
Eu amo o Brasil. E, mesmo tendo crescido tecnicamente em São Paulo, as melhores partes da minha infância aconteceram na fazenda da minha família, no interior. Cavalos, comida caseira, pôr do sol, fogueira, meus irmãos, minha avó tocando violão.
Hoje eu estou vivendo a vida dos meus sonhos, mas quase todas as noites, antes de dormir, eu me imagino sentada na grama. Consigo ouvir os cavalos ao fundo, sentir o cheiro que a cana-de-açúcar deixa no ar quando está sendo cortada, e o ar esfriando no fim do dia.
Acho que esse é só um post para acalmar a minha alma, mas não existe nada como estar em casa.
E a pior parte é que eu sei que, se um dia eu deixar a França, provavelmente vou sentir a mesma coisa por aqui.
Talvez esse seja o preço de viver tantas vidas bonitas. A gente está sempre sentindo falta de casa, onde quer que ela esteja.
