I had a session at Fagan Park today and the colours are simply divine! So many yellows, oranges and reds, I can't wait to take my boys there next week for their own session.

Ok big deal you may think, we went to a forest and took photos. But to me, it was so much more.
As a reactive dog owner, I find it extremely hard to take photos of my own dogs alone. Having to be on constant look out for off lead dogs, or any dogs for that matter, is exhausting. Then add trying to take photos of dogs while having a swivel head on alert, forget about it. I gave up photographing my dogs about 2 years ago because it was just too hard. But on Wednesday, that all changed.
With a group of like-minded and extremely dog savvy people, we were all able to get stunning photos amongst the pine trees. Over the years I have taken hundreds if now thousands of photos of my boys, but nothing compares to the beauty of the forest. It has also been a mission of mine to get in as many photos with the boys too as they age, which I am so thankful to my friends for making this become a reality.
So thank you to Rachel, Rachel and Mel for a super fun afternoon out with our dogs. I have photos I will cherish forever, especially ones of me with the best boys in the world. ❤
I’ll sit there and think, “ah finally, the house looks decent,” and then a single tumbleweed of fur rolls across the floor like it’s laughing at me. Doesn't matter what season it is, there is hair in the house all year round.
But then they look at me with those faces and I’m like, fine. Cover everything I own in hair, it's pretty much part of the décor now. They are the best companions and if hair is the price I have to pay to be lucky enough to spend my life with them, then so be it.
Tell me I’m not the only one living in a fur storm? Spring has just begun and the boys are off to the groomers tomorrow for their monthly baths and desheds.
Social media can be such a chore sometimes. Posting stories I find is so much easier, plus the boys and I don't really do a whole lot of exciting things day-to-day worth sharing or photographing. Archie is pretty much back to his normal self post operation, and Chico is his usual reliable self.
Although, the boys and I are about to head off to their first grooming appointment in 2 months, and they are both so overdue. Chico has the grinchiest Grinch feet ever (so embarrassing), and Archie is just due for a good hydro bath.
Chico and Archie are generally good for their grooms, but some days Chico can just be a dragon. Wish me luck!
Since Chico was microchipped when surrendered we know his exact birthdate, unlike Archie who was found as a stray without a microchip. So instead we celebrate Archie’s gotcha day instead in January.
Do you do anything special for your dog’s birthday?
Both boys have been on a great diet, supplements and have monthly body work done for many years now. I believe in preventatives over a cure, why deal with bad joints when supplements can be used from an earlier age to support a dog into their senior years?
Each year both boys also have blood tests done to make sure everything is looking good internally, and so far so good!

We are still taking things slow and steady, but so far so good!
Do you have anything exciting on this weekend?
What is allowed now is short sessions of running around, play fighting with Chico and some off leash time. We will monitor how he feels after these exercises, and if he pulls up a bit sore we then reduce exercise again and go slow.
All the rehab and therapy appointments were 100% worth it, Archie is on his way to being back to his full self again. ❤
