It was back to school today for us and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t sad. I love having my big boy at home with us, even if our break was filled with illness. Missing him already so a squishy baby was the pick me up I needed to turn my morning around.

And here’s why… it’s a place that they hold near and dear so it adds extras sentiment and creates a better story. I love the challenge of shooting somewhere new so I feel like their sessions are always more creative. Usually when I get this request it’s because they have a really rad property! And at the end of the day they always feel more intimate and a more tender timestamp in someone’s story. Manifesting more backyard sessions in 2026!
Slowing getting back to the swing of things. Mapping out some dates for future minis… Valentines, Mystique and everyone’s favorite, Mams and Me, are all on the way the next few months. Can’t wait! Keep eyes on stories and emails for updates! Hope to see you soon!
I meet so many incredible mamas who are responsible for bringing so many amazing kiddos into this world. And I’ve shared this before but one of the number one regrets they tell me is skipping maternity photos. I get it, it can feel stressful, especially if it’s baby number three or four. So I always recommend leaving everyone else at home and focusing on mama for once. You’ll get everyone together once baby is here but for just a moment it’s so nice to celebrate you. Pregnancy is such hard undervalued work, it’s not glamorous or pretty but I hope our time together shines some light on the beauty. Mamas, you are so badass. You make the world go round and every time you create new life you deserve to feel pretty and valued and important. So book that solo shoot and let’s go have some fun!
We are finally finding our way out of the flu cloud that hung over our house for the last three weeks. Looking back, we definitely went through the motions most days but still found some fun along the way. When I tested positive two days before NYE I was so so sad. Not only did I feel horrendous but it is one of my favorite holidays. It’s always been so special to us because it’s the night we met. This was our 16th new years together and ironically the first time we had to stay home sick. Pretty good odds I guess. We had a party planned at our house with friends and we knew we had to cancel. After a little cry about it we decided to rally. Reminded me of the old college days, feeling like shit but still getting dressed and partying anyway. Except this time we got to stay home and wear stretchy pants instead of dance in the clubs. Those days were just preparing us for nights like this. Morale was low and we needed to shift the energy. So we all crawled out of bed, loaded up on meds, showered, got dressed and had our own little party. The boys picked out fancy outfits, I pulled something together and we threw everything sparkly we had on our tree. We did a little countdown, shot off the fancy poppers I had bought and made the best out of it. Felt like a real fever dream but we all needed a little magic. Being super sick during the holidays is the worst, zero stars I do not recommend. But we made it out the other side and I can only hope 2026 is filled with more magic, sparkles and confetti couldn’t hurt either!
Well if it isn’t the Mondayest Monday that ever Mondayed. That’s ok because the sun is out and the new year is filled with possibilities. Can’t wait to see what it holds! Hopefully more gorgeous baby bumps and toes in the sand.

What a year it was, my second full year in my new city. Definitely felt more balanced and back to the normal I have been missing since the big move. Honestly I hope for more of the same this year. Professionally, I am manifesting more mentorships, more Fresh 48s, new locations, fresh faces and sessions that make me heart race in exciting ways. Oh and lots and lots of wildflowers but this rain is already giving me hope. Cheers friends, happy new year! I hope 2026 is a good one!
Sometimes as an artist a vision or story or idea comes to you like dream. Sometimes you let it pass right through you. Sometimes you obsess over it. And other times you hold onto it until the perfect moment. Those times when you listen, when you follow that little whisper in your ear… there’s nothing sweeter. The first time I ever shot in Carlsbad was on this stretch of coast over ten years ago. It was one of those times when an idea took hold of me. I didn’t know how long it would take but this place was going to be home on day. Something about this soft hazy cliff side just felt magical. We’ve lived here for a year and a half now and I never get sick of this view. Everytime I drive past it I am filled with ideas. I’ve had it in my brain since we moved to do a creative session here. But I put it off, sometimes ideas have to wait. But I’m so glad I finally listened and paid homage to that little stretch of coast in such a beautiful way. Little by little I’m leaving my mark in this new home. Letting those sparks of inspiration sing louder and take up more space in my work the way they used to when I was younger. Thankful for friends who make such lovely inspiring designs and. And for a gorgeous mama who trusted the vision. I hope I can start obsessing over my ideas more this year. It sure feels good.✨🤍
A while back I did a poll asking what everyone’s biggest photography regrets were. The number one answer was maternity but a close second was Fresh 48. It’s definitely mine. I don’t think a lot of people even realize these types of sessions exist. When I was pregnant for the first time, it was after a long battle in fertility and IVF. I was so nervous about having the baby that I didn’t wanna jinx it with booking any type of photo shoot. So I skipped 48 and regret it to this day. Delivery was so rough and I barely took any photos. I was worried about how I looked and having people in the room but little did I know that room constantly had people in it and I wish one of them had been a photographer friend. So for baby number two I made it a priority and I’m so grateful for those sweet blurry magical moments. These sessions have a healing quality too, they can help mamas work through birth trauma, they can save forgotten moments, they can celebrate firsts and capture tiny details that fade so fast. They are so special and I remember each and every one.

And just like that, a new favorite image was created. You know that feeling the second you take a photo you really love? It’s like love at first sight, that was this photo. This whole set was such a dream, nothing beats meeting a client who you just click with and who gets the vibe. And it was my first time shooting the California lilacs of San Marcos which was so much fun. Literally the hills are covered in purple flowers but you blink and they’re gone. So I felt really lucky to have had the stars align for this one! I have a funny feeling I’ll be sharing this shoot for a long long time.💜
