I take a lot of photos of my feet and mostly of my adventures around my home. When I do leave Hawai'i it’s with my friend in his small van and I’m borrowing a camera because I don’t feel worthy enough to have my own.
I start a series of captions called Notes to Self inspired by thoughts I usually only share in my journal. I feel alternately silly, infinite, uncertain, incredibly alive, mostly just honest.
I’m a spa attendant whose main job is to fold towels a certain way and clean up after people.
On the side of that I do graphic design.
On the side side of that I restock shelves at a grocery store.
On the waaayy side of that I do modeling and think “gosh maybe I’ll give this social media thing more of a try this year”. I tell my job I’ll be back in 5 weeks.
I think I know what’s coming, but really I have absolutely no idea. And isn’t that beautiful.

1. Write my annual letter from my future-self perspective as if it’s the end of the year and I’m doing a summary of all that I’ve felt, done, and learned.:)
2. Without looking through my camera roll or notes - reflect back on what moments/highlights stood out to me that brought a deep joy or satisfaction. This list helps me understand what I really value and remember long term.
3. List of guiding values (i.e. mine were purpose | play | peace | health/energy) then under each category I write specific habits I will embody or stop in this coming year to bring more of that energy into my world.
Any practices or prompts that you’ve been loving lately?
Wishing you a wonderful, energizing, prosperous and presence-filled upcoming year.❤️

It was pretty impressive to see that for wide-angle, immersive, even some low-light videos I think the Action 6 really holds its own. #ad
I have them both in my camera kit for a reason (and have been sponsored by both of them at different times over the years) so scouts honor didn’t try to make one look worse than the other.
I’ll also be the first to admit these cameras aren’t trying to do the exact same job.
For me the Osmo shines in that:
🪶weighs almost nothing and survives dust, heat, falls, all of it with amazing stabilization
💧It’s waterproof to 20m/65ft without a housing.
🧲It’s magnetic so I can stick it to things (or use the mounts for more stability) and I often put it in situations I would never willingly put my Canon.
🆒The newest #djiosmoaction6 also has a square sensor feature meaning I can shoot vertically and horizontally at the same time.
Overall what did you think - does the Osmo hold up in this comparison?

1. Macro Lens - I can fill the frame with smaller objects and it’s light enough to do things like taping it to the top of my pen or creative “writing on the lens” effect. I tape or mount this camera anywhere and everywhere. Minimum focal distance is around 8-10 cm. I find these shots really immersive and eye-catching. *it also comes with an extra wide boost lens
2. Built in Film Tones = beautiful tones out of camera, less time editing afterwards. I tend to use the ones called: NV and TR at 30%. I found 50% or more was a bit too much contrast. The D-LOG also is great if you want maximum control over final look of a shot.
3. Square sensor - Means I can shoot vertically and horizontally at the same time(!) without losing any quality. I COMPLETELY underestimated how much I would use this - now I wish more cameras did this.
Have you thought about getting an action camera? Why or why not?
This was my second ride at which is part of Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy, unique in that it’s a community-owned conservancy, stewarded by the Samburu people.
Unlike most conservation areas which are fenced off with a specific area for the local indigenous people and an area for wildlife, here we often passed Samburu pastoralists with their herds of goats and sheep or camels and a few minutes later a herd of giraffe or elephants.
This is a strong working example of conservation built around the idea that wildlife protection and local livelihoods are deeply intertwined and sharing resources is possible.
I believe we were blessed with such a beautiful interaction is because the animals in this area are used to co-existing and recognize the area around Sarara as one of safety.
A special thank you to and my Samburu guide, Lenawala for an experience I’ll never forget💛

So believe me: I get that trying new things is easier said than done. I still *frequently* feel silly, frustrated, or worried others are above my skill level.
But maybe that’s the point. The fear, the awkwardness (in my imagination or otherwise), the bruises—they’re proof that we’re trying.
Even as I’m in this weird phase where I’m “convinced” I’m not progressing at anything, I think making this video helped remind myself of just how many things I’ve taken on over the years. How those things at the time also felt hard.
And how discovering what we’re capable of, in spite of it all (or perhaps because of it all?), feels like one of the most meaningful parts of being human.
With love and courage - and I’ll be getting my butt back on the court tomorrow. Lots to still learn in this lifetime Xx
It’s so…different from what I once imagined… and yet it feels exactly right? I don’t like having a ton of things. I love experiences. I love freedom (Sagittarius here🙋🏻♀️)
I hope one day, not too far from now, I’ll settle onto an off-grid farm. I’ll have horses and a garden. I’ll make all my own imperfect ceramic plates, each with fingerprints pressed into the clay. I’ll keep a shelf of favorite books, ready to be given away.
There’ll be an edible landscape so every walk is an invitation to forage. I’ll know the seasons of the land by heart and I’ll probably bake banana bread again.
But today? Wow. Zero idea what’s next.
All I know is: I feel happy. I feel grateful.
I feel free.
And what an absolute privilege it is, to design a life so undeniably me:)
