For many reasons last week was an awful week on both a personal and practical level. The gods saw fit to show their wrath and they did - they echo our personal sentiments. Me home alone, no electricity here and everyone in the village scrambling to clear the roads, protect buildings and livestock and animals. And yet neighbours still found time to come and help. Wonderful community. 🤍
Pernelle got hit too - some got it worse, some got it better. ´On fait avec’ as they say in French. Get up and get on - but nature was cruel last week, in so many ways. 🩶

After a fair absence the house took some coaxing out of its doldrums - an abandoned beauty reclaimed by its master.
After diligent care, cleaning, polishing and repairing where needed, she is slowly resuming her former splendour...
Already there is music coursing through the rooms, with fresh roses cut from an extensive pruning session, extending their perfume through the lower floor, mingling with the scent of the candles, driving out the damp the stale air. With windows and doors flung open, the birds welcome the return and one bird in particular very keen to welcome us back, singing its approval from the balcony.
They say there is a place for everything and soon everything will finally be in its place, as it should be and a gentle calm and harmony will reign again at Montvason. 🏰 💗🤍🩶
