Can’t thank my support system of family, friends, colleagues, mentors, etc. enough for getting me through arguably some of the most challenging times I’ve ever encountered as I grinded through residency. Balancing grueling work hours, stressful work days, dealing with life & death situations, studying for board exams, all the while trying to maintain a social life and taking care of my body was not an easy feat and I absolutely could not have done it alone. Huge shoutout to EVERYONE who have been so supportive & encouraging me while pushing me to help me achieve this huge milestone, and God has truly been so good in all the blessings I’ve received 🙏🏼

Whether it was giving me a place to crash for the night, catching up & getting food with me, giving me events/weekends to look forward to together, or just checking in to see how I was doing, I am so so lucky to have each and every one of you who have been there with me during this amazing journey. The amount of personal growth and development during training as a physician is absolutely mind blowing and I am so humbled and grateful to be where I am today. I am so fortunate to be able to look forward to embarking on the next chapter of my life as I start my dream big boy anesthesiologist job in Pasadena, CA with an amazing group of anesthesiologists. The grind doesn’t stop here as it’s just the beginning but I’m also looking forward to finally making that anesthesia doctor daddy salary 🤙🏼Praying that I stay humble, maintain gratitude, and be a positive impact & influence while always remembering my roots and where I came from and the people that got me here ✌🏼If you’ve been a real one for me, you know who you are, and THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart 💙

Being a doctor is a grind.. 4 years of college (& having to excel during those 4 years to get into med school which means countless hours studying and sacrifices to do well instead of enjoying the bulk of your college years), studying your ass off even more to do well on the MCAT, while building your clinical/volunteer experiences to get into med school.

After finally getting into med school, you have to work EVEN harder to pass your board exams, clinical rotations, and study (the hardest I’ve ever had to) in order to succeed and match into the residency of your choice while competing with super smart people all across the nation
•
The grind doesn’t even stop there when you make it into residency. The learning curve of being a physician is so steep as you apply everything you’ve learned to real patients, are STILL studying to pass your boards, while working ridiculous hours & molding into the physician you’ve dreamed of becoming.

Grateful and humbled to be on this journey, and to all the doctors out there - everything you’re doing and the hard work and efforts you’re putting into your patients absolutely matters and you’re making an incredible impact in all the patients you touch and heal. Take this day to be proud of yourself, your accomplishments, and stay motivated to continue to grow on this journey in medicine which never really ends.
