“Your wins—no matter how big or small—still deserve to be celebrated.”
I may not have checked off everything on my bingo card this year, but hitting 12,000 followers absolutely was one of them 🤍
When I started this account, I never imagined the community it would grow into. So many of you have been here through the highs, the lows, and everything in between. What I’m most proud of isn’t the number—it’s the trust and the genuine connections we’ve built. Showing up authentically has always been my goal, and knowing that comes through means more than you know.
I recently asked how this page has helped you, and the responses were incredibly humbling. Themes kept popping up:
• trusted GF restaurant recommendations
• feeling safe and comfortable dining out
• genuine, honest advice
• always answering questions
• “a gluten-free friend” 🥹
• caring, responsive, knowledgeable
• inspiring simply by being myself
As someone with celiac, I know how hard it is to trust food—and people. So during this holiday season, I’m deeply grateful for every conversation, every DM, and every bit of trust you’ve placed in me.
Thank you for being here, for supporting me, and for being part of this community. Here’s to continuing to eat safely, honestly, and joyfully—together 💛✨
Swipe to go back all the way to 2017 when I started this account! 🫶🏼

My score came back 71/100 — not as scary as I thought! My main issue was richness, so I’m slowly upping my fibre, adding more polyphenol-rich foods, and sticking to gluten-free whole grains like quinoa, millet, buckwheat, wild rice, and legume pastas.
For bloating? Digestive enzymes, slowing down when I eat, and keeping a food journal.

Ari and I stopped by this past weekend for photos with Santa and their Picture Perfect Holiday Party. Santa was the sweetest—he chatted with Ariana, loved her drawing, and even accepted her allergen-friendly cookies like the king he is 👑🍪

1. It’s an autoimmune disease, not an “allergy” or a fad.
2. Even a crumb can trigger symptoms in someone who is symptomatic.
3. There are no such things as cheat days. The only treatment for celiac disease is a 100% gluten-free diet.
4. Cross-contact is a daily fear, followed by locating the nearest washroom in the case of an emergency.
5. We’ve cried over stray croutons in our salads or an errant pasta noodle that didn’t look like the others.
6. Gluten can be present in things like sauces, hand cream and even lipstick!
7. “Gluten-friendly” is not a thing, we don’t make friends with gluten! If you see this on a menu, please ask more questions.
8. We are expert label readers. Seriously, once you master this, you’re golden!
9. Travelling can be challenging but it’s manageable with the right research and support.
10. Baby got snacks! We bring our own snacks everywhere.
11. We’ve been accidentally glutened and powered through.
12. Potlucks, buffets and “family-style” are our worst enemies.
13. We’ve turned down birthday cake & received a sad cup of fruit as a dessert option more times than we can count.
14. We can still eat well—like, really well. Have you seen my highlights??
15. We’ve made peace with being that person at restaurants. Yes, I will ask 20 questions if needed!
16. People with celiac are superheroes. End of story.
17. GF food isn’t always healthy— and that’s totally okay, it’s just safe. I’m talking to you fad dieters. This ain’t making you lose weight.
18. Contrary to what you might have seen in some viral video online, the gluten in Europe is exactly the same as gluten in North America. Please don’t eat it if you’re celiac.
19. The celiac and gluten-free community is pretty darn amazing.
20. After 20 years, we’re not just surviving—we’re thriving!
