Pilates is definitely a great complement to running, supporting injury prevention through improved core and hip strength. You will feel more balanced, efficient, and resilient on your runs. I love the focus that the exercises and movements require.
Pilates meets you where you are, no matter your age or ability and like running it is fantastic for both mind and body. It is a fun way to build strength and stability that supports your running.
You can book in at and you will see a list of all the classes during the week. Also, group and personal classes can be organised on request.

Patrick my son opted to stay at home. Most 17 year old boys like their independence and don’t want to be seen hanging out with their Mother😃.
On Friday we went to Greenwich park, which is close to the start of the Marathon, along with three other past winners, Ingrid Kristiansen, Liz McColgan and Paula Radcliffe. We each planted a tree which will bear our names.
We were staying beside Hyde park and went for some nice jogs and walks over the weekend. I found London to be an extremely busy city. Generally when I go away, it’s to a quite beach or somewhere in nature but in London there was no escaping people. The 48,000 running the marathon added to the hustle and bustle of an already over packed city.
The organisers kindly asked me to start the elite women’s race along with Ingrid Kristiansen. We were then brought to the finish area.
I remember very little from 25 years ago when I ran, as I was completely immersed in the task on hand. I do recall running down the mall to the finish, and I was sure someone was going to pass me, because the crowd were cheering so much. Thankfully that didn’t happen 🙏
As we stood at the finish line there was a notable difference between the celebration and excitement of the elite athletes and the masses. The elite athletes are racing against the clock and take very little time to enjoy the moment, whereas all the other runners were savouring the moment, and rightly so.
During my running career I didn’t enjoy the moments as much as I should have. After a race, I would come straight home and back into training, focusing on the next competition. There was no time spent sightseeing. But to be at the top of your game, that’s what needs to be done.
It was very thoughtful of the organisers to invite me back and it was a great experience for Deirbhile, to see all the work that goes into putting off, one of the greatest shows on earth. Enjoy your running and remember ‘The joy is in the Journey’🙏
The organisers brought me over to start the race, which is very nice of them. Will be an experience to be ‘the other side of the fence’.
To be honest I don’t remember much about the race. I was in the zone and had my mind programmed in the months leading up to the race that I was going to win.
I know you all have goals but it is important to enjoy the process rather than wasting energy on the outcome.
Many of the negative thoughts that we experience results from excessive focus on the desired outcome.
It may sound counter productive, caring a little less about the result of a race produces better results. Focus on your values, not on the result.
Be grateful and let go of desired outcomes and fully embrace the privilege and process of pursuing goals and dreams. Prepare well and do your best on the day of competition. Success is doing your best.
