THE OTHERLINGS

The collection consist of different portals, worlds that each reveal another part of the psych. They can be entered individually, yet together they form one larger labyrinth.
Mana is about reclaiming a voice that ones seemed lost.
Lily carries grief, love and remembrance.
Stip returns to the vulnerable inner child and the worlds created in search of safety.
Lulu explores dissociation as both refuge and confinement.
Nika confronts violence, vulnerability, and the strength that continues to exist despite what had been endured.
Agatha brings us back to the origin, childhood memories, confusion, fear and the emergence of the inner world themselves.
Together the works do not form a linear story. They create an inner architecture, a landscape where past and present, external and inner reality, fragmentation and identity are allowed to exist alongside one another.
The Mana collection is ultimately a journey trough what remains when language is no longer enough, memory instinct, imagery, and the continuous attempt to give form and meaning to experiences that where once impossible to express.
Each portal is a world of its own.
Together, they become a map of survival.
There are hands
that never ask to be seen,
yet quietly hold
the worlds we create.
Some people do not enter
the centre of the painting.
They remain at its edges
unseen,
steady,
making sure the fragile things
do not fall apart.
She moves through a world
made of roots, water and shadows,
neither entirely human
nor entirely creature.
Her body bends
as though surrender
is not weakness,
but trust.
Around her,
the living world curls inward
protecting,
embracing,
holding.
Perhaps every artist
needs someone
who holds the frame
while they disappear
into the world within it.
Someone who reminds them
that even the darkest labyrinth
can have an entrance,
and that no world
is ever created entirely alone.
This work was created for my godfather,
in gratitude for the quiet hands
that have helped me bring so many of my worlds
into the light.
Pain screams without a sound.
The eye upon the forehead seeks no relief,
only the endless return of sorrow.
A cycle unfolding again and again,
until you can no longer look away.
Perhaps that is what art is to me.
Not to offer answers,
but to make visible what refuses to be forgotten.

But hidden among them are other memories. They move quietly, like flesh eating insects beneath the leaves. Fears I could not name, moments I did not understand, feelings that stayed long after they happened. They are part of the landscape too.
While painting, I found myself wandering between these memories. Each flower seemed to hold a story, each toy a trace of who I was, each insect a reminder that childhood is never only innocence. It is a place where wonder and discomfort grow side by side.
This painting is a page from that inner garden a diary of things remembered, half forgotten, beautiful, and unsettling all at once.

The work gives shape to an inner world that shatters into fear, anger, and paralysis, while also revealing the strength that can emerge from darkness.
The painting is both confrontation and liberation: a visual journey through nightmares, hypervigilance, and inner struggle, as well as a search for healing and voice.
Nika embodies the scars left by abuse and violence, but also the possibility of resilience, resistance, and the reclaiming of identity.
It speaks to the fire that women always carry within them, a source of strength, even in their darkest hours.

Where people who starve become food for the earth, souls are crushed, broken and turned into a delicate wine.. Where eyes are seeing everything still no hands reach out to help.
And remember when you are from the west we will help you immediately and get you out of the dangerous zone, but if your not…and you are born in the wrong place, we will build walls around you, just like a rat in a cage. Know that there is no way out and bombs are falling everywhere. The elite hope you will survive.. If not.. Well that’s bad but we don’t know your name anyway.
