Then digital came and with it, the confidence to shoot weddings. Because at a wedding everything happens fast, there are no second chances, and film doesn’t forgive.
I know film weddings are a trend right now. And many photographers I admire have been doing it for a long time, it’s not new. That’s why so many brides had been asking me for it. I’m not discovering anything but I got here in my own way: not doing it until I was sure the result would be something I was proud of.
What I love about analog is this: you have a roll, a limited number of exposures, and every shot is a decision. There’s no deleting and trying again. The moment is fleeting and film forces you to treat it that way. At a wedding, that takes on a whole new meaning. Because the moments already are that way.
And then there’s what you actually see: the grain, the colors. That warmth that digital can imitate but never quite replicate.
Neelo and Heider trusted me with that process. And the result is incredible.
