Completed nearly a decade ago, this project was an early exploration into how traditional spatial wisdom could be clarified to create something truly enduring. This constant, open conversation with nature is proof that when a space is designed to breathe, it never loses its edge.
Nearly a decade later, the ceiling of this farmhouse remains one of our favourite spatial experiments. Designed in 2016, the central skylight fitted with custom rubber moulds was conceived to act as an architectural timepiece. Shifting geometric patterns of light and shadow have altered the depth of this room every day since, proving that high-concept design doesn’t date. It just matures.

Whether it is the familiar colour palettes and patterned surfaces of Athangudi tiles or the work of street-side sign and hoarding painters across Chennai, the reference begins with recognition. These are visual languages embedded in everyday contexts—often overlooked, yet deeply tied to place and memory.
When craftsmanship is treated with clarity, the present finally finds its place.
