Thankyou to everyone who has reached out with beautiful well wishes today, I love each and every one of you.
Deep down I feel extremely lucky to have made it to 50. As most of you know I had ovarian cancer when I was 13, and for most of my teenage years and early adulthood, I held a deep seeded fear that I wouldn't make it to 40 (which ridiculously seemed so far away then!)
Ive had many bumps along my road, but life has a way of working out in the wash, and without those bumps, I might not have the life I have.

Its a few days later now, and I can't stop crying. On the day of my birthday, I put on a happy face, so as not to make anyone feel bad.
But the reality is, that my birthday was a dissapointment of a magnitude I'm finding hard to comprehend.
It had turned into a yes day by guilt. Not that this is what its about, but I did not open one gift on the actual day, from anyone. No card or gift from my family.
My bar is bare minimum low, but not even a card has been incredibly hurtful.
My doggy sitting duties are over for now, what a chap!

You see, we became friends the day we were both born! Our mums Margaret and Helen shared a room and became firm friends.
For years Matthew and I shared birthdays, camping trips and lots of fun nights playing board games, while our folks played cards or canasta and ate vienetta ice cream! I even went with Matthew to a high school formal!
I loved going to Matthews house, because Aunty Margaret always had lime cordial in her pantry!!!
Happy 50th for Saturday birthday twin, how lucky we both made it this far!

Capturing the incredible vibes of the Illuminate Adelaide 2026 Program Launch was a huge deal for me, im still pinching myself!
She loves: Chinese, Green apples, Drawing, Science, Dancing in the kitchen, Unloading the dishwasher (🤣) the beach, roller-skating, tests, bike rides, playing the piano, learning new things, her turtle Jeffrey, Sandra, Cluedo, card games and careoke on the way to school...
She doesn't love: weird textured food, patronising adults, fizzy drink.
She's the most empathetic, kind gal and so smart.
We're very proud of her and still wonder how we were ever so lucky.
She got to wear a badge to school today, which sweetened the deal. It was a bit of a bummer that her birthday was on the day school went back, and Daddy away till the weekend, but I decorated the house for her and we will celebrate more on the weekend!
