I wanted to share a few ferry shots simply because I love slow travel. I often take the ferry to France or the Netherlands because I need my car on the other side, but even if it wasn’t out of necessity, I’d still rather take a train or a ferry instead of a plane. Taking a ferry across the sea, watching the sun go down over the water, watching people, the reflections in the windows. I love that, when I take the overnight ferry, I go to sleep in the evening to the (generally) gentle rocking of the waves and wake up with the sun rising at the horizon. I love looking over the water and that feeling that time is somehow suspended…
A few frames from a recent shoot for up in Northumberland. An amazing Georgian house which, in its former incarnation, was a bank! It is full of beautiful details and restored with an incredible amount of care and attention for its age and architecture. Oh, and I would very happily have loaded that apothecary cabinet into my car and driven it home…sigh…
Last month has flown by! So much so that I never got round to posting anything apart from some snippets on stories. I’m still catching up on Marrakech from November (how did that happen?!) and Vienna in March and now I have some snippets from May in Munich to share before moving on to Grasse and Paris… Anyway, Munich, possibly my favourite city in Germany and I truly lucked out with the weather…
A perfect (sudden downpours notwithstanding) day in London: lots of walking, a little shopping, some art (The Wes Anderson Archives) and a fabulous lunch at.

Spending a couple of hours catching up with lovely over great food was definitely the highlight of the day. We indulged in some wonderful fish starters - the sliced tuna belly with salsa puttanesca was amazing and the sea bass carpaccio had the most wonderfully delicate flavours - followed by an octopus pasta dish and the catch of the day fish. Everything was just so right, including the mocktails.

And then came dessert! A pistachio tiramisu to share (I love that!), prepared at the table! So indulgent, so good! Truly, if you fancy some wonderful Italian food, great fish dishes and super-friendly service, get yourself to - you’ll just have to bring your own friend…

Loved (!!!) this kitchen! The green, the yellow, basically the same colours I have in my home (though admittedly in two different rooms - a green dresser in my kitchen and my yellow living room ceiling). Fabulous house shot for in Doncaster. And I have a few more pics to share from this one…
At some point the “insta” part disappeared from Instagram. I remember it being fun, uncomplicated, all about sharing moments as and when they happened. Despite doing what everyone else is doing in terms of sharing “the serious stuff”, my work, and very much curating what I share, I do sometimes miss those days. I miss how uncomplicated and easy it felt. With that in mind, I felt like sharing just a few spontaneous phone snaps I took yesterday. Just after the most wonderful lunch at. I was too busy enjoying the food and chatting with a friend, hence the empty plate - a true snapshot…
More from Vienna and I’m not yet done by far. There is so much beauty in that city with incredible architecture and beautiful details at every turn, not to mention all the gorgeous cafés! I’m now just randomly sharing some of the shots I have so far edited. So yes, there’s still more, how could there not be…
The palm house of the was at its most magnificent in the afternoon sunshine. The light casting shadows and illuminating leaves - I could have spent hours just capturing light, shadows, the architecture and shapes of the various leaves…
Some images I shared in today’s very lighthearted email newsletter. If you’d like to receive my newsletter (usually goes out on Fridays, though not necessarily every week…), just follow the link in my profile, head to Links and Newsletter Signup. I took these particular images a few weeks ago when I had lunch at in London…
Many moons ago, on my last trip to New York, I had booked myself a ticket to visit the top of the Rockefeller Center. On the day I went up, I couldn’t see anything bar a thick layer of fog. I was gutted! I know it’s such a tourist attraction that I might as well just look at all the images online, but I really wanted to experience it for myself. So I decided to try again. The weather forecast was for clouds and rain, but I kept telling myself that this time I’d be lucky and things would be just fine. And it was! In fact, it was perfect! A slight morning haziness with the sun coming through just enough to perfectly bathe the city in a soft morning light…
