I’m stepping into a new season on this motherhood journey. One where my smart, strong-willed 6-year-old is becoming defiant and hurtful, I’m assuming, on her own journey for independence.
I know this is a developmental milestone - one I wish I was more prepared for. As a recovering certified crash-out, every alarm in my nervous system was going off on this day, especially after big sis accidentally Spartan-kicked little sis while trying to kick me in the face.
Some days, I just cry because I’m not sure if I’m doing this correctly. Honestly, I don’t know if there is a correct way to parent. All of our children are so different. I just wanted to be vulnerable and share a moment of ✨effort✨ on both of our parts.
Not your average piece of parenting content but I hope it makes someone feel seen if nothing else.
Solidarity to all the other parents just doing damnedest.
I know what they say.
“There’s no award for giving birth unmedicated.”
And that’s true — there isn’t. Birth is the most demanding process we’ll ever experience and any way we choose to go through that process is a choice made in bravery.
I do have to say though, there is something so life-changing about becoming one with your discomfort and surrendering your control, even if just for a few hours.
Welcoming the anguish that is meant to expand your capacity is a beautiful process to both experience and witness.

A: I usually start booking up 5 months in advance and I only take 4 birth clients a month so be sure to reach out and express interest as soon as you have a due date so you can at least be on my radar.
