So I thought this would be the easiest way to update y'all on Cara W's shingles situation!!
About a week ago Cara W started saying she was experiencing really bad upper back pain in one specific area! She had been lifting bags of mulch so she just assumed she had pulled something initially!
I gave her a back massage to try and help and bc she always says I "man handle" her lol, she thought the residual pain was just soreness from me massaging her back too hard!
Then Friday night she gets out of the shower and notices she has a rash running from her breast up into her armpit! She then checks her back and sure enough another rash from her spine to the left side of her back!
Thankfully I was on the phone with my friend Nicole who questioned if it could be Shingles... that's when we started researching and feared this is def what we were dealing with!
Then of course she didn't want to go to the doctor 🫠 so I put that on my stories and y'all flooded my messages of stories and reasons why she needed to get her stubborn butt to the doctor asap!!
Thankfully she finally listened on Sunday (after telling me she needed me to come with her 🥹) and we got her the antiviral meds and a steroid!
She's still in extreme pain!! She explains it like a deep, deep pain she can feel all the way to the depths of her spine and she says it feels like an elephant is sitting on her chest and making it hard to breathe! And now the pain is running down her left arm too!
If you've had shingles, or you know someone that has, please tell me how long this lasts. If she's experiencing the worst pain now, or if there is more to come? Could it keep spreading to other parts of her body on that left side? Any insight would be great!
Thank y'all for the outpouring of love, support and encouragement for her to go to the doctor!! Y'all helped me get her there and I love y'all for it so much!! 🫂

When you come out later in life, for some folks that can be quite the shocker!!
What's funny is I don't think it was all that shocking for the people that really knew me... even some of the male exes lol!
But for others it was a little bit like whaaaaat??? 👀😆
That's because being queer has always looked "one way" for a lot of people, and finding out someone like me was a lesbian did not fit in that box in their minds!
I'm glad I got to expand that box for them in that way! 😜
