Being my first big black I had no clue how big it really was so I bled the fish right after being caught to improve the quality of the meat. It lost a gallon or more of blood in the process. My guess for weight when it was caught before bleeding is 110 pounds. The current line class record for 30lb is 73 pounds, but unfortunately we were not able to get it on the books due to the fact that there were 4 hooks on our jig and invalidated the catch. Lesson of the day only fish one assist hook. None the less an insane catch and the biggest I will see for a long time.
