Standing there in line listening to the answers from these women, I found myself so moved. Once again I was reminded of the strength and resilience that exists when women come together to lift up other women. Every story, every voice, every moment on that stage carried something powerful.
It reminded me that I can still become whoever I want to be at any age. That beauty and strength can exist hand in hand. That we are allowed to take up space unapologetically. And that every woman has her own talents, her own magic, and her own way of shining.
Congratulations to all the winners, and and to every queen who stepped onto that stage representing herself with courage, vulnerability, confidence, and heart. That in itself is something worth celebrating.

I went from pageants to pin up… and then somehow back into pageants again. So this feels like a little return to my pin up roots before nationals.
My last local stage performance was almost 2 years ago when I played “Lee Rex” in Boogie in the Badlands. Since then, my last pin up performance was in Fredericton for Ms Canadian Bombshell 2025, and I remember having so much fun that weekend. But I also remember realizing how much I missed performing.
I forgot how nervous you get before stepping back onto a stage after time away. Like… genuinely nervous.
Thank you to True North Pin Up for continuing to create these opportunities for women to get back on stage, celebrate themselves, and sparkle a little louder.
And honestly, I’m just excited to spend the afternoon watching so many bombshells absolutely slay that stage.

Leeanne has also worked as a theatre director and choreographer for professional companies across Canada, being awarded “Most Outstanding Choreography” awards at various dance competitions.
Most recently Leeanne has returned to the stage as her Pin Up persona, “Miss Candy Rose Leigh”, incorporating her flair for wild accessories and love of Broadway dance. She currently holds the title of Miss World of Wheels Calgary 2024. An advocate for female empowerment, Lee embraces the opportunities in the pin up community to help other women reclaim their identity and voice.
Currently, she is a dance instructor at Dance on Edge and a drama teacher for grades K-12 at Calgary Academy, a school that supports diverse learning needs. It is her love for collaborative creation and student-centered learning projects that keep her inspired and motivated to endure the late nights and long rehearsals. In her classroom, Leeanne utilizes Collective Creation and UDL to provide equal opportunity for all students to learn, and to encourage her students to create original theatrical experiences that address personal, community, and global issues, as well as social change for diverse audiences. Her student-centered philosophy helps to nourish young people’s creativity and personal growth.
Leeanne is a member of the Star Fest planning committee for the Theatrical Arts Education Association, which advocates and creates opportunities that shape lives through theatre. Her passion for performance and education in the arts helps to keep her motivated to find ways for young people to find their inner spotlight, and the confidence to take centre stage.
