This weekend we took the family to Oakville for the Victoria Day fireworks, and honestly, it reminded me exactly why I keep recommending this city.
Fireworks happen everywhere, sure. But Oakville hits different.
The crowd, the field, the energy, there’s a real sense of community here. Parking was smooth, zero chaos, the whole evening just flowed. It wasn’t the biggest fireworks show, but you could feel the heart of the city.
Here’s something most buyers don’t realize. When you’re spending 800K, 1M, or more on a home, you’re not just buying bricks and drywall. You’re buying the streets your kids will grow up on, the neighbours you’ll wave to every morning, the parks you’ll visit every weekend, and the community events that will become your family memories.

We didn’t share much earlier because one of the babies was underweight at birth and had to go through several complications. We’re still dealing with it, but things are slowly getting better, one day at a time.
We didn’t do a gender reveal party this time. With twins, the chances of complications between deliveries are higher, and we were genuinely nervous. We decided to keep the gender reveal private—just between the two of us—and did it during our maternity photoshoot. It was a beautiful and emotional moment we’ll always cherish.
Handling newborn twins and a toddler in Canada without house help has been incredibly hard. But having Manpreet’s mom here with us has been a blessing. Parents may not enjoy being far from family or staying in Canada for too long, but they still show up and do everything for their kids—and for that, we’re truly grateful.
With health concerns, sleepless nights, and trying to manage,, and The Canada Couple, things got overwhelming. But now, we’re slowly getting back on our feet.
