What paper did I use?
We used crayola construction paper with 10 colors, and we used these colors: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, and purple
What are the measurements of the strips?
We cut the crayola construction paper (22cm x 30cm) equally into 4 strips, which worked out to be 22cm x 7.5cm per strip
How many packs of paper did I use?
For the 6 chains in our living room we used around 1 pack of crayola construction paper (400 sheets) but we only used 7 of the 10 colors so that works out the be 280 sheets.
How long did it take us?
We made the chains a day before, just so we could throw them up after my son went to bed, and it took us about 2-3 hours to cut and create the chains.
How did we hang the chains?
We used white painter’s tape
What size is the disco ball and how did we hang it?
We used a 16 inch disco ball and a plant hook to hang it. I’ve linked one that’s similar to the one we used in my bio.

We absolutely love these nostalgic paper chains and have made them for birthdays and holidays. This time we made the bubble/chunky style where we cut the paper a little bit thicker so there’s less space between.

For these chains, you can use any paper you like. I’ve also seen people use felt sheets or ribbon, which I love!
The exact paper we used was the classic Crayola construction paper with the dimensions of 22cm x 30cm. We cut the paper equally into 4 strips which ended up being 22cm x 7.5cm per strip.
The color order we used was: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple.

This was the first year my son knew the exact day of his birthday. He was counting down the days and was so excited the night before. We didn’t have much time to prep or grab supplies, but we knew we wanted to make it memorable! My son is obsessed with numbers and was so excited to be turning 4. So that’s how the #4 birthday wall decoration came about. We used supplies we already had at home, which were colored paper and a circle puncher from his previous birthday. We also saved the party hats from his previous birthday and added pom poms to them with a glue gun and put them on his stuffies. He woke up the next morning at 6am bright eyed and so excited, which brought us so much joy 🥹
After he opened his presents, we went out to buy more birthday hats because he wanted all his stuffies to have hats so none of them would feel left out 🥳
Supplies you’ll need:
◽️Circle puncher - I used two different sizes but you can use just 1, or more if you like
◽️Colored paper - I picked 5 colors and used about 3-4 sheets of each color
◽️Wall safe sticky tack putty for posters ◽️Painters tape
◽️Birthday candle or cut out of the desired number/design to cast a shadow
◽️Flashlight - I used my phone on a tripod, but you can prop it on a chair to get the desired height
