My daughter used to tell me her tummy hurt. A lot.
Before school. Before social situations. Sometimes for no reason I could see at all.
I took her seriously. I watched her. I tried to help. But I didn’t have the words to explain what was happening inside her body — because nobody had ever given me those words either.
She wasn’t sick. But she wasn’t fine.
She was feeling everything, deeply, and her little nervous system was working overtime — and neither of us knew that yet.
When I became a Breathwork facilitator last August, I had one question I couldn’t shake — how do I teach this to children? Not just the breathing, but the whole picture. Why their tummy hurts before school. Why big emotions feel so physical. Why their body is sending them signals they don’t yet know how to read. I then stated to see the patterns, started to feel my mission becoming clearer …
That question became The Body Squad.
