The beautiful has organized an amazing collab to celebrate Día de lo Muertos. So many amazing bakers have been posting their creations in these two past days! Being away from Italy, I haven’t been able to honor my loved ones who are not with us anymore as much as I would want to, so this was an amazing opportunity for me to use my creativity for something I really do care about. This week has been crazy for me, so I decided the other day that it was time to create a cream tart, which is always one of my favorite things to make!! Also because my husband loves to make our Italian short crust pastry and Chloe loves to make cookies with him after with all the leftovers.. so it’s a win-win for everyone in the house! 😂
I love piping roses.. and I don’t know why I don’t make them more often! 🤷🏻‍♀️ and those wafer roses by are just the cutest thing ever, together with sprinkles.

Here’s my entry for this week’s collab: Ghouls’ BFF. Did I spell it right?! 🙈 I am currently oxygen-deprived after a terrific step class that I proudly survived, so please be kind with me 😂 But, going back to the cake: I really enjoyed making that marshmallow spiderweb with (and it only took me 20 minutes to clean my kitchen after, but all good now! Ha!). The cake was vanilla and chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and little super fun marshmallows on the inside. Chloe now thinks that every cake I make is for someone’s bday and wants to sing the whole song for the unknown him/her.. please send help. So: are you guys ready for Halloween?! Today is #nationalchocolatecupcakeday!! Does it get any better than that?! I mean: chocolate and cupcake.. together!! So, here you have some spooky chocolate cupcakes with chocolate American buttercream (😱 Chocolate AB for my very first time EVER! And it was delicious!), all adorned with sprinkles and chocolate jimmies to recreate yummy and fun dirt. I know I don’t usually make cupcakes that often but.. it was love at first sight when I saw those super fun monster hands from. And they were totally a hit with kids!
Update on Chloe’s Halloween costume: it’s not going to be spooky at all! 🤦🏻‍♀️ But she’s all about skirts lately 🤷🏻‍♀️ (..still wondering if they gave me the right kid at the hospital..)

Hello people! I have been missing out a bit on here because.. LIFE! And a new FT job that I love, so it’s getting busier and busier for me. That does NOT mean that I am not baking or shovelling sweets in my mouth while on the couch at night 😂 but the whole documentation part of what I bake is becoming a bit complicated sometimes. Nonetheless, I promise I will do my best to keep you folks up to date. And here we are! Here’s one delicious chocolate cake I made last week, with dark chocolate and vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream, filled and topped with chocolate ganache and chocolate marshmallows. But please, let’s all take a moment to appreciate that Monster Mashup sprinkle mix by. Aren’t they the cutest thing ever?! I hereby solemnly declare with this cake that.. is fall! Oh yas! I had my very first pumpkin spice Timbit the other day (if you don’t know what Timbits are.. come visit us, or just google it: whatever is more convenient for you! 😂), and we have rarely seen the sun lately (hence, welcome rain season!).. so here we are! For today’s fall themed #sprinklepopcollab I decided to go with the vintage rose gold sprinkle mix and to make a fault line cake, with a cute wooden theme in the middle, rough edges all over, (Yes, I am a big fan rustic stuff), and topped with whole wheat cookies made with love for me by my husband and little Satan, together, the other day 😭 Thank God he has those moments where he bakes or cooks with her.. for me children in the kitchen are still a big NO NO 🙅🏻‍♀️ Having someone smashing things on the floor or flour all over the place still gives me a little bit of anxiety 😂 I know, I know.. I’ll need to work on that, I know it looks cute from the outside LOL

I made this cake few weeks ago and it was kind of last minute (because of my crazy schedule lately), as you can see from the in-house cake topper 😂 It was our present for our lovely neighbor Jude and, to be honest, I have no idea about what kids older than 2 like these days LOL So I had to ask him in a sneaky way and hope I got it right. Clearly, I had never heard of this Dog Man before, as our life turns around and their moves ALL DAY LONG.. but I liked the way the cake turned out, even if I had to rush it. This happens to be also my first video to post, and I have been learning quite a few things from the day I decided to put my IPhone on my wiggling tripod 😂 It wasn’t definitely premeditated! Thus, there are things that probably needed to be made in a different way.. but it’s good to keep it real every now and then, and to show that the struggle is real when you have to learn, even here on Instagramland.
