Running became my quiet metric in the world where adulting can get quite boring at times. The repetitive miles gave me joy, structure, and the reward of watching the numbers fall through effort and consistency
Looking forward to more of this

First one in March - 3:23; it was exciting, humbling, and a very clear lesson in what long-distance running actually demands.
Gave it another go in April, improved the time, and confirmed that marathons don’t suddenly get easier just because you want them to.
After that, I wondered if I was ever going to break that elusive 3hr barrier. So I decided no more races for a while, and just quiet work in the background, stacking miles, and trusting that it would add up.
Came back in October, broke sub-3, and wrapped the year with a PB of 2:55:05.
Turns out consistency works. Who knew.
Same plan for 2026, just hopefully a bit faster 🏃♂️

3:07:01 — emotionally a 5:30:00
Did I want to end the year like this? No.
Did I taper with a hyrox solo the weekend before? Y 🤡
Knew from km 2 this race was cooked.
👉 Slide 5: giving myself a big slap to stay awake
👉 Slide 6: running on fumes 400m from the finish
Still: seafood paella secured and memories made. I’ll be back in 2026… properly tapered.

Debut men’s solo
once said “if you think hyrox is fun.. try a solo” yeah everything was fine until the sleds didn’t move with my pulls and the wallballs said “sit DOWN, clown.” Took me longer to get that done than some people take to shower.
March’26 London, we race again 🫡

My third marathon back in my hometown and finally cracked that sub-3 barrier after a not so eventful Paris earlier this year. It’s been a long time coming.
I’ve never been a fan of long runs (you’ll see why in the second half… check the pace chart in the third last slide 😮💨), but there was a goal to chase and we got it done.
Not everything went to plan — got stuck in traffic (630am on a Sunday morning??) and reached the start corral literally one minute before the gun, forgot my so ended up running three hours with no music but surprisingly loved every second thanks to the unreal crowd energy, and somehow finished with a black toenail courtesy of some dodgy expo socks.
All worth it though. Sub-3 mission complete.
Next stop: BQ time. Let’s get it. 🦄

This has been the goal sitting in the back of my mind all year. I’ve chipped away at my half marathon time over the past two years, but this was the barrier that felt like it would take real discipline to cross. delivered that moment.
It wasn’t an easy day. Storm, wet roads, and that familiar pre-race doubt. The rain was coming down so hard that my bib was oversoaked it literally fell off. For a few minutes I thought I’d end up running “incognito”. But there’s something about these conditions that forces you to focus. The work was already done in training, the long sessions, the interval sets, the weeks of consistency that build up quietly in the background. Race day was just the test.
Crossing the line at 79:27 felt less like an explosion of joy and more like a quiet confirmation that the training worked. I never bother engraving medals, but this one reminds me the goals that once felt far away eventually become stepping stones to new ones.
What struck me most about Copenhagen was the field. Running 79 minutes put me way back in the results 1000th+ place. At the London Landmarks Half this year, my old PB of 81 minutes was good enough for top 100. It’s a humbling note there’s always someone faster, always a higher standard, always more to learn. That’s part of what makes the sport so compelling.
With 5 out of 6 SuperHalfs now complete and Cardiff left, I’ve got a little over a year to chase the next big target of sub-75. That’s ambitious, but so was sub-80 once.
Here’s to more progress, rain or shine🫡

Third year in a row for me, and every time the vibes get bigger and louder.
What I love most about running is exactly this – the community and the energy it brings. It’s been an unreal year of growth and connection, and I can’t wait to keep sharing more miles with this amazing running family.
