This project reinterprets tropical modern architecture through sensations and perceptions.
Biophilic design is not about adding is about creating a deeper relationship between human life, nature, materiality, and emotion.
My design process has led me to understand that a house should not only be should be felt.
Because architecture, when it is truly meaningful, does not just create spaces.
It creates experiences.

I felt that truth when I visited the Pantheon in Rome with my daughter.
Inside that space, architecture was no longer an image, a style, or a composition. It was air. It was was weight.
I remember feeling the density of the air inside that immense volume. As if the space itself had a physical presence.
And then, the light.
Entering from above, through the oculus, it did not feel like illumination.
It felt like material.
Light became architecture.
That moment reminded me that true architecture is not only understood through drawings, photographs, or theories.
It is experienced through the body.
Through the senses.
Through that silent moment when a space moves something inside you.
That is why architecture, in its deepest truth, is not just built.
It is felt.
AFGP approached me, and we spoke about life, about my philosophy of Architecture for the Senses. And that is how this new challenge began.
So far, we are doing well.

The rendering is only the consequence of a much deeper process.
Design begins when you start imagining life inside the space.
How the family will wake up.
Where conversations will happen.
How the afternoon light will enter the house.
What they will hear when the windows open after the rain.
The textures their hands will touch every day.
The smell of wood, stone, vegetation and home.
The feeling of arriving after a long day and finally breathing differently.
This house is an example of that.
A home where architecture and nature become part of the same experience.
Where light, vegetation, shadows, breeze and materials work together to create a biophilic connection with everyday life.
As the design evolves, the process becomes more precise.
Not because the image looks better.
Because the experiences become clearer.
My work is to create the scenarios where life will happen.
That is the architecture I love to make.
They arrive while walking.
A few days ago, I was walking my dog through the park thinking about this project again. I had been working on it for days, trying different directions, different forms, different compositions. But something still felt unresolved.
The project was missing clarity.
Then I noticed something simple.
The curve of the pathway.
The circle around the tree.
Nothing dramatic.
Just geometry quietly existing in nature.
I stopped for a moment and started sketching the relationship between those two gestures. The flowing curve and the circular void. That became the beginning of the project.
Back at the studio, I translated that idea into architecture.
The curved slabs.
The soft movement through the spaces.
The circular opening bringing light, sky and trees into the center of the house.
Many times architecture comes from thinking deeply about the same idea for days, it begins with observing, until suddenly something connects and everything begins to make sense..
With paying attention to something most people walk past every day.
A couple had just purchased a lot. They were excited, but they didn’t know the approval process or the local design regulations. They brought a hand sketch, thinking it would be enough to move forward.
It wasn’t.
Early decisions shape timelines, approvals, and even what is possible to build. Without the right guidance from the beginning, projects become stressful and expensive very quickly.
That is exactly where I step in.
