While these miniature predators might resemble true scorpions, with their prominent pedipalps, they lack a stinger and instead rely on venom glands in these mobile fingers to immobilize prey. Although, completely harmless to humans and pets. (Unless, of course, those pets are mites or other small insects)
They are common in many environments, but rarely noticed due to their small size. Pseudoscorpions play an essential ecological role, feeding on booklice, mites, and small insect larvae. Some even practice phoresy, hitching rides on larger insects like beetles or flies to disperse to new environments.
Though this specimen had already passed, encountering one is always a thrill! Pseudoscorpions are such fascinating little creatures like tiny cryptids hiding in plain sight.

I hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to take a moment to share some updates about my business journey, especially for those of you who may have just started noticing some changes.
As many of you know, 2020 was a tough year for small businesses, and my little insect venture was no exception. It became clear that I needed to make a change, as it just wasn’t sustainable for me anymore. So, I took a leap of faith and pivoted to something new. During that time this account had been left largely untouched and it seemed like such a waste to let years of hard work, growing this account, fizzle out.
I know this might come as a surprise to some of you who followed me for my insect content, and I truly appreciate your understanding as I shift gears. From now on, I’ll be sharing my passion for vintage and radioactive items. Your support means the world to me, and I’m so grateful for everyone who has been with me on this journey.
