Just another little collection of the fine time we had the other day with and the guys. And of course, all the wonderful folks that joined the party to make it as special as it was.
We had a party. It’s was a very very good party with a little bit of culture thanks to showing his incredible creations. He’s the man behind a lot of the artwork and so it only made sense that they were the driving force behind the event. Drinks were had. Food was had. Good times. Good chats. We will let the pics tell the rest of the stories. #party #indigoferajeans #burgundschild #denim #selvedge
You know what — the cold weather isn’t all bad.
It makes the boss very happy. Mainly because he gets to skid around the streets like a kid again.

Sure, it’s a little nippy out there. But it’d be a damn sight colder without this on.

The Alamo Shirt in olive from Indigofera is made from a heavy but beautifully soft, garment-dyed canvas that blocks the wind while staying comfortable enough to wear all day. Rugged, reassuring, and exactly what you want when winter still has a few tricks left.

This piece also carries the brand-new Indigofera logo, designed by Björn Atldax — and that’s where things get even better.

📅 Monday 19th, from 7pm

Bjorn will be in store with the rest of the Indigofera crew, showing his artwork. You’ll be able to see it, talk to him about it — and even take some home in the form of an Indigofera piece.

And yes, it’s getting warmer inside than out.
Free drinks. Good people. Proper clothing.

We hope to see you there.

It’s time to take a closer look at Prequel — and by closer, we mean literally closer.

These close-up shots reveal what really sets Prequel apart: fabrics that are anything but ordinary. Look closely and you’ll see the intricate, deliberate way each cloth is woven. Every fabric is 100% proprietary, developed exclusively for the brand, with designs drawn from old pattern books and traditional crafts rather than trend cycles.

That depth is then paired with a clean, modern silhouette — contemporary in fit, but finished with subtle details borrowed directly from classic shirting. It’s a balance Prequel handles effortlessly: heritage textiles, modern execution.

The kind of pieces that reward attention — especially when you slow down and really look.

Before we jump into the details of the Jelado 55 Denim jeans, props are due!

Those white, fluffy streaks across the photos? Nope. Not dust. That’s snow. And while Alex was out there in minus temperatures in just jeans and a T-shirt — he was looking cool while quite literally being cool... or cold... or very cold... or in his words, "It's f*#king freezing hurry up and take the photos!"

Now, the jeans.

The JELADO 55 Denim 313XX is inspired by the Levi’s 501XX of the early 1950s — a true work pant silhouette, translated into a precise Japanese reproduction. Wide, straight, and high-waisted. Functional and honest.

They’re made from 14oz selvedge denim using 100% American cotton. For JELADO’s specially developed “LAST RESORT” fabric, an original deadstock XX denim from the 1950s was fully dismantled and analysed — from fibre length and yarn twist to indigo dyeing — then faithfully recreated and woven on vintage shuttle looms in Japan.

Details follow suit: copper rivets, iron buttons with the JELADO logo, orange stitching, classic pocket quilting, a deerskin leather patch, woven LAST RESORT label, red tab, and the offset rear belt loop. Once washed, the shape settles in beautifully — ready for everyday wear.

Old bones. Proper weight. Built to last.

What — another jacket post just days apart? Yes. Have you seen the Berlin forecast lately? When it says minus 14, you know it’s going to feel closer to minus 20. And that’s exactly where the RJ-2 earns its keep.

The RJ-2 is Freenote Cloth’s evolution of the classic Riders Jacket. But with its stance and presence, you’d be forgiven for spotting a little N-1 DNA in there.

It’s built for real cold: Martexin waxed canvas on the outside to keep snow melt and moisture exactly where they belong, and a full genuine shearling lining on the inside to lock the heat in.

Add a shearling collar, quilted sleeve lining, and a heavy-duty Universal zipper from Japan — because fumbling with buttons when your hands are frozen is nobody’s idea of fun. It’s practical, purposeful, and reassuringly overbuilt.

And then there’s waxed canvas itself. One of the great winter materials. It protects, it breaks in, and it ages beautifully — picking up creases, wear, and character as the season goes on.

We know: cold weather doesn’t care how good your jacket looks. But this one just happens to keep you warm and make you look damn good while it’s at it.

Alex was happy wearing just a tee underneath in the balmy −6 on shooting day, paired with Freenote Cloth Modesto Jeans and well-worn, well-loved White's Boots. He’s wearing a size XL in the RJ-2. at 195 and 90kg.

BURG & SCHILD × INDIGOFERA

January 19 | From 7:00 p.m.

Join us for an evening with our long-standing Swedish friends from Indigofera.

Our special guest is Björn Atldax, Indigofera’s long-time creative collaborator and the artist behind many of their iconic blankets and bandanas... and now their brand new pocket flashers.

For this night only, Björn will present a small exhibition of his extended work, with exclusive risograph prints available.

We’ll also be showing special Indigofera pieces, including a limited hand-dyed indigo bandana, made especially for the evening.

Good drinks, good food, good people.

See you there.

This one starts in-house.

The Kōenji Deck Jacket is the brainchild of our very own David, who set out to answer a difficult question: what happens if you take the N-1 deck jacket and render it in leather — without losing what makes it work in the first place?

To bring that vision to life, David turned to Double Helix. The key was material choice. Instead of forcing leather into a shape it doesn’t want to be, the solution was to find something that behaves like the original dense whipcord — and that led to an exceptional French suede horsehide. Soft, structured, and fluid in movement, it drapes and wears with the same quiet authority as the cloth originals.

One non-negotiable detail was the lining. Developed specifically for this jacket, the deep red alpaca-blend wool is something Double Helix hadn’t done before. Opaque, warm, and visually striking, it transforms the interior into something almost ceremonial — and it works beautifully.

Rather than creating a one-to-one reproduction, the design pulls in additional references from 1930s and 40s menswear: straight, rectangular pockets that reinforce the clean lines, and a square-cut mouton collar in place of the usual rounded shape. Subtle changes, but ones that shift the character entirely.

Named after Tokyo’s Kōenji district — a hub of vintage culture and creative subculture — this jacket balances tradition with an urban edge.

A classic silhouette. Re-engineered.
Exclusively at Burg & Schild.

Kay is wearing the Kōenji in a size 40 at 178 and 78kg's. He's paired it with the Sugar Cane Okinawa jeans, which have not arrived just yet, but hop over to the website and sign up for the notifications on the drop.

Indigofera — one of our OG brands — has just revealed a brand-new look. A clear departure from the clean, monotone pocket flashers and size tags of old, but far more in tune with where the brand stands today.

Long-time fans will recognise the spirit instantly. The artwork comes courtesy of Björn Atldax, Indigofera’s long-standing creative partner and the man behind many of the limited-edition blankets and bandanas you’ll have seen over the years.

Quick aside: you can meet Björn and the Indigofera crew here in store on 19 January, kicking off at 7pm.

Back to the main event.
We paired the new branding with Indigofera’s double-black Gunpowder denim. Today, black warp / black weft fabrics are easier to come by — but when we first brought the brand in, a double-black selvedge jean was something genuinely rare. Special, even.

Eight years of wear later, it fades with the same depth and character you’d expect from indigo — just quieter, darker, and every bit as beautiful. The patch tells the rest of the story: a brand evolving visually, while the foundations stay rock solid.

If you get the bones right, you can change the details along the way.
Here’s to another 16 years of Indigofera on the shelves.

Fresh on the shelf: the new issues of Clutch Magazine and Men’s File have arrived. Two publications that dig deep—strong editorials, carefully selected brands, and plenty of ideas worth lingering over. Familiar names sit comfortably next to new discoveries, all wrapped in thoughtful storytelling and solid design. Well worth a place on your coffee table—or wherever you keep the good stuff.
