Bula’bula Arts Aboriginal Corporation is an internationally renowned, Aboriginal-owned and governed art centre located in Central Arnhem Land, 400 kilometres east of Darwin. Our mission is the preservation and fostering of Yolŋu culture. This role offers a chance to live in a remote and beautiful part of Australia and our art centre is an iconic tropical, elevated building in the heart of the Ramingining community on the edge of the heritage listed Arafura Wetland.
The Men’s Studio Coordinator will provide operational support in the day-to-day running of the art centre, studio and associated programs and projects.
Base salary $70,000 – 75,000 per annum plus benefits including accommodation and utilities.

Bula’bula Arts would like to acknowledge Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Materials (AICCM), the Gordon Darling Foundation, Wales Family Foundation, the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC), Indigenous Visual Arts Support Program and Creative Australia for their support of this multi-year project. The exhibition has been assisted by the Australian Government through, its principal arts investment and advisory body.
It was a fun exhibition launch with a fantastic series of public programs, and so good to see artists connecting with audiences, catching up with old friends and making new ones along the way. Artists Andrew Wanamilil, Johnny Malibirr and JB Fisher loved all the Sydney action!

In 2024 Bula’bula Arts in Ramingining, Northern Territory began an important 18-month journey to protect and revitalise the community’s archive of cultural history. This experience sparked pride, creativity, and a strong determination to safeguard heritage, inspiring artists to remake and reinterpret their families’ artworks, a selection of which are on display in Djalkiri – the Bula’bula Arts Archiving Project. The title of the show, Djalkiri (footsteps) was chosen by the artists to signify the journey forward while honouring those who came before. Join us to reflect on Ramingining through the past 40 years as we make footsteps into the future.
This multi-year project was supported by the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Materials (AICCM), the Gordon Darling Foundation, Wales Family Foundation, the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) and Creative Australia.
