You know the one. Grocery store smile. Office smile. “I’m fine, thanks!” smile.
Back home, you don’t have to perform. You can be moody, be loud, be too much, be nothing at all.
Here, every version of yourself gets edited before it leaves your mouth. Softer tone. Smaller reactions. Less of you, on purpose.
I didn’t realize how much energy that takes until I stopped for a second and asked myself, when’s the last time I didn’t perform?
If you know, you know. 😅

This is the biggest World Cup in history. 104 matches. 48 teams. 16 cities. Three countries. The scale of capital flowing through this tournament is unlike anything we’ve seen and a handful of brands have contractual ties that mean they win regardless of the scoreline.
Here are 3 stocks I’m watching before a ball is even kicked
⚽Adidas — dressing 14 national teams, making the official match ball, and already reporting ~€250M in World Cup orders from Q1 2026 alone. Revenue up 14% YoY. The tournament hasn’t even started and the numbers are already showing up in the financials. 👟
⚽Visa — every ticket sold, every stadium transaction, every cross-border payment from millions of fans travelling internationally. They don’t need the World Cup to be a great business. But this is a real near-term catalyst on top of an already strong base. 💳
⚽AB InBev — 40 years as FIFA’s official beer partner. Budweiser, Michelob Ultra, Stella, Corona. Category exclusivity means no competitor gets within a mile of a stadium or fan zone. Billions of fans watching football, you do the math. 🍺
One thing worth saying, all three have already seen pre-tournament run-ups. The classic risk applies: buy the rumour, sell the news.
Do your own research. This is not financial advice.

This is what I actually did with my money in June — 5 dip buys across 4 names, all sitting inside my retirement portfolio, all bought with a long-term thesis that hasn’t changed by a single word.
Microsoft — 20% off its high. Azure AI and cloud infrastructure aren’t going anywhere. I’m not panicking. I’m shopping. 🛒
AB InBev — two separate entries, same conviction both times. Record Q1 EPS, a $6B buyback program already running, and a World Cup summer just getting started. The machine is working. 🍺
IBM — my biggest unrealised loss this month and also my highest conviction hold. Barclays just initiated with an Overweight and a $350 price target. The AI and quantum story is still in its early chapters.
Adyen — 50%+ below its 52-week high. I bought the dip in April. I bought it again in June. The market keeps discounting it. I keep adding. That’s the whole strategy.
€1,099.86 deployed. Every position red. Zero regrets.
Because here’s the thing — not every month is green. Not every entry is perfectly timed. But when your thesis is solid, short-term red is just an uncomfortable shade of opportunity.
The thesis drives the decision. Not the noise. Not the chart. Not the panic in the comments. 💡

And I’m not about to sugarcoat this. Because that’s not what this series is for.
Here’s the thing nobody tells you about being in a finance space as a woman. You will be questioned. Constantly. Your knowledge, your takes, your right to even have an opinion. And at some point, no matter how solid you are it gets to you. It just does.
The tricky part? You still have to show up. Still have to come correct. Still have to walk into rooms and present yourself like everything is fine while internally you’re running on fumes and reassurance you had to give yourself.
I’ve been in that place recently. And it’s uncomfortable to admit because the whole world sees a version of you that looks put together. But the merge between real life and the version of yourself you perform online? It is not always seamless. Not even close.
What I keep coming back to though, the critiques don’t get to define you. The doubt is not data. The noise is just noise. You walk into every room like you belong there. Unbothered. Unshaken. Unapologetic. Because nobody else gets to decide your value for you.
The confidence is coming back. Slowly, slowly. But it’s coming. 🫶
Tell me honestly, has being in a professional space ever made you feel like you had to shrink? Drop it in the comments.

Family Bank (FBL) listed on the NSE today at KES 18.
What followed was a masterclass in why listing day hype is dangerous for retail investors. 📉
Prices shot up well beyond what the fundamentals support.
We even saw bids at KES 50. On a stock listed at KES 18. That is not investing. That is noise. 🚨
Here is what likely happened today.
Early holders, some possibly from Ziidi, sold at inflated prices during the hype window.
Retail buyers chased the price up.
Those same early sellers may now be waiting to buy back in at lower prices.
Classic. And completely avoidable if you knew what to watch for.
Here is what you need to understand about the next few days👇🏾
NSE operates on a T+3 settlement rule.
That means anyone who bought today cannot sell until the 4th working day.
So for the next 3 working days, the price is not fully supported by real market conviction.
The real price discovery begins on Day 4, when today’s buyers can finally sell.
That is when you will see where this stock actually wants to trade.
What should you do right now?
Do not chase. Do not panic. Do not place bids at ridiculous prices.
Watch the direction tomorrow before making any move.
If you want in — use a GTD Limit Order at a price you are comfortable with and let the market come to you.
This stock is worth owning for the dividend. KES 1.20 per share declared for FY2025 at a buy price of KES 18 is a strong yield.
But only if you buy at the right price. Not today’s hype price. 📌
P.S. The hype may be over. The opportunity is not. Patience is the strategy here. Share this with anyone who bought today without a plan, they need to read this.

I just walked you through every single dividend payment that hit my account in Q2 2026 — stock by stock, date by date, straight from my M-PESA notifications.
Here’s what 5 stocks paid me this quarter:
📌 ABSA — KES 2,109 | 19 May 2026
📌 Standard Chartered — KES 2,141 | 21 May 2026
📌 KCB — KES 2,922 | 23 May 2026
📌 NCBA — KES 3,938.76 | 26 & 28 May 2026
📌 Stanbic — KES 1,762 | 4 June 2026
Total Q2 NSE Dividends: KES 12,872.76
And that’s before you factor in KES 96,264 in unrealized capital gains — bringing my combined return on NSE principal to 24.14%.
⚠️ Important note on the numbers: All figures shared are net of deductions and/or charges. Companies publicly declare gross dividends — what you actually receive in your account may differ, and this is indicative of that differential. Always track your real returns based on what you actually receive, not what is declared.
📅 All portfolio valuations, share prices and capital gain figures referenced in this video reflect positions as at 15 June 2026. Any price movements after this date will not be reflected until the full Q2 report drops at end of month.
This is Part 1 of my Q2 2026 report. The full breakdown — bonds, global stocks, Mansa X and everything else — drops at the end of the month. Follow so you don’t miss it.
