I have had a few conversations about this topic recently (you know who you are 😉)
So when I opened an email today from a bride who is struggling with being kind to herself, trying not to the feel the pressure of how she’s supposed to look on her day and unrealistic beauty standards making her feel “less than”
I had to speak up!
This is something I struggled with growing up. I had really bad acne and still have some scarring now, and I used to HATE my skin, compared myself to all my friends who had good skin and honestly felt disgusting without makeup.
I tell you now, if I’d seen some real skin in mainstream media and social media, I would have been so happy to feel normal!
This is still such an issue for not only brides but so many women!
And as beauty pro’s we have the opportunity to be able to help share realistic standards and show women what real skin looks like, instead of smoothing everything just to make your work look better
I feel so strongly about this and we are definitely moving in the right direction but there’s certainly more to do 🤎
