We made a major impact on our community, and I will always look back at our time so fondly. I have nothing but the utmost respect and love for all my wrenn ladies and we are all staying close friends! There is no ill will whatsoever at play here. Disbanding the rescue has just been a part of the natural flow of things.
Iām not currently fostering, and donāt know when Iāll return to it, but I know I have lots of options when/if I do!
To all my adopters, I know life happens, and if you find yourself needing to rehome a cat youāve adopted from me, please let me know and I will do what I can to help. I cannot take adult cats back into my home, but I will do my best to help find placement. That has always been my promise to all my babies.
She is a very affectionate and sweet girl who can be chatty at times, and is about 5-6 years old. She loves to sit on the couch and watch tv with her people and be loved on! Her missing leg doesnāt cause her any trouble and she still climbs and gets around just fine.
PLEASE SHARE if youāre in/close to California! The more eyes we can get on her, the better. She is a darling cat and doesnāt deserve what sheās been through.

Weāve been making some major life changes around here for the last year. Iāve posted about it somewhat, but Iāll recap in case anyoneās missed it. My partner has gone from being a highly involved coparent and a (stay at home, thanks mostly to the pandemic) law student to being gone 12 hours a day working as a public defender. Iām the primary parent to our two kids now, and itās been a huge adjustment. Iām also the family taxi and my days start at 5:30am and donāt end till about 10pm. (PS Iām NOT a morning person š¬ huge adjustment for me lol)
Itās probably not surprising to read this, with the way my content has slowed down so much, but Iāve decided to finally be truthful with myself and admit that fostering isnāt in the cards for me right now. Since Iāve slowed down, my own cats have been DRASTICALLY happier. They didnāt appear miserable in the first place, but the difference without kittens is undeniable. My shy former feral, Fifi, is confidently rolling around on the floor and sleeping in bed with us, things sheās really never done. The other 3 cats are enjoying more of my attention, and thereās been little to no conflict between any of them. We were having daily minor squabbles. It makes me sad to realize how neglected they were apparently feeling the last five years of my heavy fostering.
A major issue with fostering has been my lack of a room I can dedicate to just kittens. I have been using my bathroom, which has āworkedā, but thereās no door and no way of adding one, and the kitten smells and sounds are uncontained. I think that was a major factor in my catsā unhappiness. And maybe someday down the road, if we ever move into a different house and have a room with a door that I can dedicate to fostering, then maybe that could work for us.
I am still open to occasional babysitting for my fellow fosters, and here for advice and support for all my foster friends of course. And I look forward to reopening my shop and being able to offer cat toy fundraisers for rescues again. (Continued in comments, sorry it got so wordy!)

Weāve had one seriously interested sounding couple, but they completely ghosted us after applying and even scheduling a time to meet the kittens. Their loss, clearly, but still so frustrating for the people on our end spending time trying to coordinate the adoptions. Other than them, weāve had no interest. Not even the typical āI want a kitten to give my kid for Christmasā. Where are all the adopters? š„²
