Now more than ever we need our community!
The time has always been now more than ever…. My speech yesterday at the ICE out rally hosted by

There’s anger, frustration, and a deep desire to do something. But if that energy isn’t paired with a deep commitment to education, it won’t sustain itself.

To fight for the long term, you have to understand how we got here. You can protest ICE today, but if you never spoke up about IDF and their treatment of the Palestinians, and you’re missing the point.

Real accountability works the same way real apologies do, they have to be rooted in changed behavior. So if you’re outraged by what happened in Minnesota, and specifically by what happened to Alex Pretti, then that outrage must also extend to Breonna Taylor, Sandra Bland, Freddie Gray, Mike Brown, Sonya Massey, and the countless other names of Black and Brown bodis here in the United States that could fill the rest of this post. This behavior has been around in many Black folks have been trying to get you to care about a police state for decades.

trump is not an anomaly, he is the product of systems and individuals who have long chosen to uphold white supremacy, even unconsciously. These incidents are not isolated. If we had consistently fought the inequities faced by Black and Brown communities, if we had resisted border brutality against immigrants when ICE began in 2003, if we had held elected officials accountable by their actions, not their statements, we would be in a very different place today.

So I encourage you to let your outrage and anger move you toward education and honest conversation. Let it shape you at your core, so that you’re fighting for the liberation of all, not just reacting to what’s happening today. #ICEOut #AbolishICE #GeneralStrike #FreePalestine #SayHerName
I deeply believe in the saying that what we allowed to happen to others will happen to us. I understood at a young age, the importance of collective solidarity and collective responsibility and I wish that I could get everyone to see how important people power is in specifically our dollar as consumers.

If we truly came together in large numbers to boycott and stop spending our money with organizations, influencers, artist, celebrities, etc. who support ice or the administration, we would see a shift in dynamics because people are never going to move out of morality, but only when their economics is impacted.

Capitalism and greed continue to be the lead causes as to why Community suffer. So if your family, wouldn’t you you want us to do something? To not be silent and to not support organizations or individuals who are hurting you.

Yes, general strike on January 30 but also start thinking of ways you can move your money now. I know that it’s uncomfortable and more than anything. I know that it’s inconvenient. But it is the only way that the powers will shift. It’s the only power we have left. We can’t trust our elected officials to do something. We can’t trust the law to be uphold. We can’t even rely on we can’t even rely on the constitution so please strengthen your Boycott muscle and find one or two ways that you can support a general strike, moving forward
The year of the Mama… ✨🪴

After years of pain, my mother was finally able to have her knee replacement surgery this year, and it became the first real season of mothering my mother. The boys and I stayed with her throughout the process to support her recovery, and it was truly an honor to offer even a small measure of the care she has poured into me my entire life. Showing up for her, tending to her needs, and celebrating her in a year that also marked her official retirement felt deeply aligned with honoring God. My obedience to her and to God is rooted in love, and this year that love showed up as care, presence, and sacrifice. I’m incredibly grateful to be in a position where I could give that freely.

She is the ultimate blessing to me and to my children. You deserve more joy, Mama, and I’m thankful that this year we were able to give you your flowers in real time while you can feel them, receive them, and rest in them. I never want to do this life without you. I appreciate you in a way that runs deep and beyond words.

Thank you for who you are, for all you’ve given, and for the legacy of love you continue to model for us every day.
