Eight weeks ago she gave birth to five innocent little ones, to add to the thousands of cats needing a life-long responsible home.

The remaining ducklings are still with us waiting until they have developed sufficiently ready for thier freedom.
Our team went to the aid of this poor female cub today, she was hiding behind a planter in a garden. Sadly she was paralysed from the mid spine, with no use of her back legs and n feeling. After a full assessment at our vets, we decided all that we could do for this beautiful girl was to let her go and end her brief time in this world, she is no longer suffering.
We take in wildlife for good reason, if you can catch a wild animal they are often very ill or injured, unfortunately of the fours cubs admitted in the past few days, two had to be euthanised to end thier suffering.
The first cub was passing blood, had an enlarged liver, was very dehydrated and declining, we decided to let them go as our vets could do no more, they were possibly suffering from canine hepatitis.
Yesterday another was admitted severely dehydrated, she was put on a drip and we monitored her through the night as we did the nightly feeds for other wildlife. Although she had improved by the morning, a trip to our Vets for Pets Eastwood for blood tests, confirmed she was in renal failure with all the classic signs of leptospirosis.
Another cub rescued by Charlies Place Rescue was admitted, assessed and has now joined our group of cubs.
This chap arrived this morning very dehydrated and disoriented After a short time on a drip he has improved and showing all the positive signs.

Today itās been back to back hoof trims with the lovely Amy and Hannah. We never take on equines that are ārideableā or āsellableā or āsoundā, we take on the end of line ones, the oldies, the wild ones and the damaged. They all come with complex needs and issues that we can only try our best to resolve.
Hannah and Amy are THE BEST trimmers ever and always find solutions to our hoof problems. They even sat with our new donkeys so that when we can eventually trim them then they will be a bit more chilled.
Doing hoof trims is never straight forward with the equines we have and itās very physical work so a half time nettle and lemon cake was just pure bribery.
Lily has particularly interesting hooves and thankyou to the donor for her new magnet boots. Doesnāt she look cool!

Previously we have filled three skips worth, Capital One filled No.4. The rubbish is years worth left carelessly by former occupiers of the land. Waste we removed included two trailers, 4 baths, cans of spent oil, lots and lots of plastic, engine and cars parts, a BBQ, the list is endless but finally it's nearly all clear!
