Opening myself up to all of the mysterious unknowns that 2026 has in store for me ✨ Cutting my hair always feels like a shedding of all of the things I no longer need to carry with me. It feels like a clean slate full of possibilities. Reminding myself that whatever is meant for me will find me ❤️
2026 began with another fresh snowfall and I am soaking up my final few days in this beautiful winter wonderland. It has been so special to have been home these last few weeks and I will be holding onto these memories forever. There is nothing quite like opening the curtains to a world coated in white. As if powdered sugar has been sprinkled over every branch and every surface. My parents and I took a New Years Day walk in the snowfall and it was such a beautiful way to begin a brand new year ❄️ Keeping myself open to all of the magic this year has in store.
Some final moments of 2025 ✨ Wearing my Mom’s clothes on repeat while home. Visits from our sweet little wren reminding me that my grandmother is always present. So many puzzles. My Mom’s delicious homemade coffee cake. Lots of walks in the snow. Gazing down at the river below my parent’s house. Time spent curled up watching movies and reading books with my parents. Looking outside at the birds and spotting the cardinals. Gazing out at the snow. Making time to move slowly. Relishing this special time with my parents ❤️
Winter adventures at home in the snow ❄️ We received a beautiful 7 inches of snow the night after Christmas and woke up in a winter wonderland. My parents and I took a walk in the fresh snow as the sun came up and it was so very beautiful. When we got home we shoveled the driveway which was quite a workout! Who needs someone to plow your driveway when you can shovel it yourself?! Such wonderful memories to hold on to! Just before the snow began to fall we were visited by our resident fox, Boots and he came right up to the door and looked in. The cutest curious visitor! So very grateful that I have another week at home with my parents curled up with books and puzzles and the very best company ❤️
Merry Christmas from Connecticut ❤️🎄
The first few days at home with my parents for Christmas have been very sweet. The ground was coated in snow when I flew in and I got to go for a solo walk amongst the snow on my first morning at home. I watched a pileated woodpecker from a distance and it always amazes me how ferociously they knock their beaks against the trees. They are enormous birds about the size of a crow and they are always incredible to witness. That afternoon I witnessed the fox my Mom has named Boots traipse across the front of our house, what a gift! The next day was a day of wind and rain which sadly took the snow away for now. I saw a beautiful hawk take a break from the wind and it was fun to watch him preening himself. There have been lots of moments curled up on the couch reading and yesterday my Mom and I took off on adventures through Great Barrington and Stockbridge and had cappuccinos at a sweet little cafe with lots of wonderful people watching. On our way home we drove through the village of Cornwall and I looked out on one of my favorite views gazing out at Coltsfoot Mountain. I think one of my new favorite photographs is the one of my Mom and I curled up on the couch in the kitchen reading the book I found a few years ago that holds the image of the wren that fluttered out of my grandmothers house in the fire now over three years ago. I still cannot believe I found that book and that it was gifted to me. I even saw a sweet little wren visiting the feeder two days ago. A visit from my grandmother for sure ❤️
Some of my favorite hiking moments from this week ✨ Yesterday morning I was on the trail at 5:55 and I spent several moments sitting on one of my favorite benches gazing at the silhouette of a great horned owl calling out. The owl was perched on a branch with the stars and the moon overhead and it was just the two of us. It’s so beautiful to watch them because when they call out they move their entire bodies and it feels like a dance. I always feel so lucky to witness them and it always feels like magic. A few minutes later as I continued on over the ridges I looked up and saw a huge shooting star and I couldn’t believe my eyes. I have been on many sunrise hikes and I cannot ever remember seeing a shooting star at that time of day before. What a gift! There was a moment yesterday morning when I considered walking to the beach instead and I’m so glad I decided to head up to the mountains instead. Whenever I decide to step onto the trail it is always a good idea. It’s just me and the big open sky and everything shifts. It’s just me and my breath and the ability to process whatever is moving through me. It always leaves me full of awe and gratitude. The very best way to begin a day. 💫
It seems to be an act of rebellion these days to live completely in the skin you were born with. I have never amplified my face or my body in any way shape or form and I am so proud of that. It has been years since I have worn make up and I love my skin. It is so important that we speak to ourselves with love and care and I try to do that every day. I heard someone share recently that the older we get the more we look like the family members that came before us. Why would you want to change that? In every crease on my face I can see those who came before me. I can see pieces of my parents and pieces of my grandparents and I would never want to erase that. In a world where everyone is smoothing over their faces and changing things about their appearance be the rebel who says no. I want to live in my skin that I was blessed to be born with ❤️
Yesterday morning I decided to go hiking with the moon and it was so beautiful. It’s rare that I go hiking on a Saturday but after a bit of time away I was itching to get up into the mountains. I was on the trail at 5:49 and sunrise was at 6:45. I had the moon guiding me for the first part of the hike and she was so bright! Orion was sitting lower on the horizon and I could see his belt shining bright and just above me I could spot Ursa Major. Hiking by the light of the moon and the stars is incredible and getting to watch the sun come up with the moon behind me is always special. Watching these hills come alive with bright greenery is so inspiring. The land has truly transformed since the fires of last January and it is so incredible to see it return. A reminder that it takes time to heal and a lot can be happening beneath the surface before you see any results.

I had a moment this week that truly meant so much to me. A student approached me on Friday and shared that after a conversation we had had a few weeks ago she made the decision to go home and see her family for Christmas for the first time in six years. I speak about the importance of family a lot and hearing that I had inspired her to spend Christmas with her family made me so emotional. We never know how far the ripples will go when we share our own experiences with others. I hope as you enter this holiday season that you are kind to yourself and kind to every person you come across. We may never know the burdens that other people carry and kindness can go so very far. May you be the person the lifts someone else’s spirits and makes their day ❤️
I am beyond thrilled to share that beginning Monday April 1st I will be teaching Monday nights at 6pm ✨ This studio has become a home to me in the last seven months and I am so incredibly honored to step in to take over for 🥰 I truly believe that the teachers you need find you when you least expect it and I felt that way the moment I walked into Jess’s class last August. I was missing having a yoga community to call my own and after living down the street from the studio for the last nine years I finally walked up the stairs to Yoga Nest in search of a new yoga home. You can find me practicing there multiple times a week and I have absolutely fallen in love with the entire community.

I have been reflecting recently about the fact that this April marks ten years from when I first said yes to taking a giant leap of faith and signing up for a yoga teacher training with and and it is wild to me that it has been ten years. I have learned so much in that time from practicing with so many incredible teachers and teaching in many different studios and for various companies and I feel elated to be able to share that you can now practice with me in person again every single week. I cannot wait to welcome new and old friends into my class and I so look forward to seeing you ❤️

When I teach I love to create a space where everyone feels at peace in their own body. Where the most important teacher in the room is you. Where you get to listen to your own body and make choices that are best for you. I always like to remind my students that you are the only one in your body and you are the only one that knows what you need. In my classes you always have the permission to make things more challenging or more restorative. You get to check in with your body in that moment in time to notice what feels good and what doesn’t. It is simply your practice, not mine. While you are in this space you get to slow down your world and connect with your breath and remind yourself what is important. I cannot wait to welcome you ❤️
