We are coming to the close of the Year of the Snake. You’ve heard people talk about it. I have certainly seen it, in myself, and in almost everyone I know. A massive year of shedding. Of endings. Of truths that could no longer be avoided. It has not been an easy year for most, and I don’t think that’s an exaggeration.
The winter solstice has always symbolized rebirth, hope, and transformation…and a return to light. Praise be.

Everything from the landscaping outside to the gorgeous interiors, and the exceptional staff, made for a really special experience.
And the food? Just wow. Standouts from the sea included the uni, black cod butterfish, and toro. From the land: the chicken meatballs, shishito peppers, and anything and everything wagyu, of course. Truly a melt-in-your-mouth situation.
I also have to note the incredibly gorgeous handmade Japanese ceramics. Just stunning. We were treated with such care from start to finish. My next-level cocktail is the White Lotus Cosmo. As delicious as it was beautiful. The beverage program is exceptional… cocktails, mocktails, and easily the most extensive list of Japanese whiskey I’ve ever seen.
Thank you to the entire Yakun team, and to my dear friend Dan Dunn for making it happen. We rolled out with very full bellies and very full hearts (important note: go hungry…it’s a LOT of food).
A perfect special-occasion, date-night, or just a must-try for the foodies. We were some of the first to experience it, but they are now accepting reservations. Go. Now. Truly. (And don’t forget to check out the bathroom 😉).
