Αλλά να πω την αλήθεια δεν έχουν αλλάξει κάποια πράγματα από τότε.

Welcome back to Bookstr’s #BookstagrammerOfTheWeek! This week is incredibly special because we are featuring Matina’s beautiful account.
Matina says that bookshops are a safe place for her, and as she currently lives in London her favorite bookshops to visit are Hurlingham Books and Foster Books. She is a teacher, and therefore also appreciates when bookshops have corners dedicated to young readers, as she believes it is incredibly important to encourage reading at a young age.

So, here we go:
-Hi! My name is Matina and I’m Greek, and last summer I got my British Citizenship, too.
-I have been living in London for the past 11 years.
-I am a language and creative/academic writing consultant, and sometimes literature teacher and freelance translator.
-I travel as much as I can. Wherever I travel, I always explore bookshops and historical places. I really enjoy travelling by train, and road trips are also amazing! I always buy books, mugs, and magnets everywhere I go.
-I studied English, Literature, Creative Writing, and Film.
-I love watching films/TV shows; going to the cinema is one of my favourite things in the world.
-Reading is everything to me. I tend to be a mood reader, but I try to set a few books to read each month.
-I am a proud nerd. Growing up, I was obsessed with LOTR (still am) and Disney (still am). 🤣
-Theatre was, is, and will always be an obsession of mine.
-Acting is something that I really adore. I have more experience in stage acting. Some of my favourite roles that I was blessed to play are Blanche in Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen, Anna Karenina by Tolstoy, and Medea by Euripides. My initial dream was to be an actress. I really miss it. I hope to get back to it soon.
-I have been writing a lot; especially since the pandemic hit. Hopefully, I will publish soon.

So, here are some of mine:
•The smell of rain.
•Leon, my cat back in Greece. He loves chicken, naps, and classical music.
•Autumn; the orange and brown leaves, the slightly colder weather.
•Theatre! My forever love!
•Films! I watch everything, but I have a special kind of love for horror movies.
•Travelling. It’s another addiction of mine, besides reading.
•Bookshops. The older the better.
•Historical Sights. It feels like I am travelling back in time. Imagine yourself walking around the Athenian Agora back in the 5th Century BC, for example, or Pompeii before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
•Disney and anything nerdy. I’ve been to Disneyland Paris ten times as an adult. No regrets.
•Lord of the Rings. Obsessed!
•The obvious. Reading and Writing.
•Oversized jumpers or jackets.
•Fireplaces.
•Naps.
•Getting on the train for an adventure.
•Dancing on my own.
•Pilates.
•Singing with my parents in the car.
•Road trips.
•Organising trips! I love it!
•Playing the piano.
