-I get emotional thinking about how many moments I’ve been a part of with this dream of a family. It’s just something so special, and this mama- Katelyn, is an angel on earth and you can’t tell me any different, nope. Family sessions have been and will always be what pull my mama heart strings extra hard…because looking at my own growing babies, I realize they aren’t such babies anymore. So you all are giving something to me too, it’s precious and I’m grateful…I get to reminisce about how tiny my own babies were, and then go cry in my car like the big freakin baby i am.

- Oh hi sweetest folks, I’m still here, well- I wasn’t fully here, but was still out creating beautiful moments and just trying to be present where I needed to be most. You all get that. Been hoarding way too many beautiful moments, so seems fitting my first post back after a much needed hiatus to be of this sweet session on a crisp morning tucked amongst the prettiest blooms, of a momma who stole my heart + forever has a huge part of it, love my girl Hannah. And her angel boy who I tried to convince her just to give him to me, didn’t work. I’ll keep trying. Enjoy, and thank you for sticking with me.

-I truly believe the greatest love story is between a mother and her baby/babies (don’t get me wrong, a father’s love is a whole other beautiful thing on it’s own)- but that love a mother exudes for her children…it’s deep, it’s emotional, it’s animalistic when need be (hello mama bears), it’s all consuming in the most beautiful and sometimes terrifying way. But another love story we don’t always feel or realize, is how our bodies are changing during this season. Falling in love with what we are able to do, who we become, it’s not always easy or feels beautiful, but I truly believe every woman deserves to have this chapter in their motherhood “love story” documented. You angels are next level amazing. THIS beauty right here, literal angel on earth. And the colors we got to dance with during part i her session, those blue skies were showing off. -This quote. wow. But also, this angel right here, folks- when I tell you I was girl crushing so hard, believe me. Can you blame me?! And her beautiful baby boy who was absolute perfection, my ovaries were all sorts of angry. I know I don’t always share studio work, because you guys know I’m a sucker for the blue skies and golden sunsets, but something about the simplicity a studio gives you, that actually feels beautifully vibrant, at least in my eyes. Film, flash, digital, all the things, all the feels, and all about these two.

-Ohhh how I’ve missed sharing beautiful moments of such beautiful angels. That happens when you fall off the face of IG earth, right? But no joke, I open up this app to inspiration galoreee, sometimes it can be overwhelming- hell even intimidating- like seeing what all has changed. But I love that things (art) is forever changing, this industry is forever changing. Just remember why you picked up a camera in the first place, and it’s ok to set it down now and close the app and then when your inspiration is flowing again- do your thing! Ok. That was my little “hi sweet folks I’m back (on social- when I can manage it) but definitely always creating (between my nose in the books- yay nursing school and being present with my loves and life)-accouncement/schpeel”. -A moment for Her. Mother.
This was the second half of our session, a few quite moments just for her. And when she sat and the light hit her in this way, I paused. Like, wow. I wanted to freeze it, and hoped with all I had that she would see this first show and FEEL what I did when I saw her. This connection, seeing the power and beauty, and confidence she emulated was jaw dropping, not even kidding. So this post is dedicated specifically to this angel beauty and the gift that she is in so many ways, but the biggest gift to her babies. Breastfeeding isn’t for everyone, whether by choice or circumstances, and there is NOTHING wrong with that, but the CONNECTION a mother has with her baby, her children, now THAT is something unwavering and we feel it in our bones, our souls, it’s that connection we really can’t explain folks. But here’s a glimpse.

-COLORS OF MY DAMN DREAMS.
You beauties; in my eyes, you are the muses to my art. I mean, come on, these phenomenal women are so inspiring in so many ways. Always girl crushin on each of you. So you’re damn right documenting their journey and trying to encompass how beautiful they are in my eyes, is something I will never get tired of. So. Starting 2024 off with a session that had me and this angel mama right here in literal tears. What it did for my soul folks, can’t put into words. It was NEEDED. 2023 at times made me feel like throwing in the towel (aka my camera and heart for this industry) and giving up on so much. But I’m still here, there’s too much inspiration that fuels my soul, so much to still document, to learn and grow from. Too much I still want to do, and people to meet. Thank you, for the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful, thank you for it ALL. Thank you for continuing to inspire me and letting my heart even be the tiniest of inspiration to others.
