Steadicam operator Larry McConkey made 13 distinct camera moves across the whole sequence, dropping low through the kitchen, sweeping through a 180-degree pan, and rising back to eye level just as Henry and Karen reach their table. Scorsese spent several days at the actual Copacabana rehearsing the route, with the floor marked out before a single frame was shot.
