This is the most excited I’ve been to make an announcement ā¤ļøšŸ¤šŸ’š
What a transformative year 2016 was. As a new mom, I had so many doubts and insecurities, I even gave in to bad unsolicited advice and negative judgements. But I am so grateful that I listened to my intuition of traveling and getting outdoors with our baby because it’s made motherhood so effing magical.

I hope that motherhood and parenthood is whatever you dream it to be 🧔

People are always surprised that New York is one of my favorite places on Earth, but it really shouldn’t surprise you. I love to travel, and being in NY, you can travel the entire world.

It’s vibrant, it’s fun, it’s pure energy, it’s unique, it’s diverse, it’s rough, it’s humanity in its rawest form.

New York in the winter is magic. I loved that we got to spend a few days before Christmas when it’s truly a wonderland. Here are my favorite things in the city from most expensive to least expensive:

šŸ’° šŸ’°šŸ’°šŸ’°: Top of the Rock & Broadway Show

šŸ’°šŸ’°šŸ’°: Finding a restaurant with food that’s hard to find in most places. My favorites are Ethiopian and Sri Lankan (Staten Island has great Sri Lankan food!)

šŸ’°šŸ’°: NYC bagels and street food! (Sorry, lots of New York recs are just food šŸ˜‚)

šŸ’°& free99: Walking the Brooklyn Bridge, roaming around and people watching, walking the Highline, perusing markets in Union Square and Columbus Circle, and playgrounds in Central Park.

[I should also note that when I lived in NY, I hated winters, so this is my perspective as someone that can come and go šŸ˜‚]
Why don’t you ever appreciate where you grow up until you leave it?

Every time I go back to my hometown, I fall more and more in love with it and realize how special it was to grow up there.

We usually spend summers in NH, so it was an extra special treat to experience the snow and all the fun winter brings 🧔

From these clips:

ā›·ļø Skiing at
ā›øļø Skating at
šŸ›· Sledding after hiking up part of Mount Washington

I highly recommend all of it. Absolute highlights 🧔

Prove me wrong.

As much as people think we’re crazy for traveling and getting outdoors with our kids, I think it would be 10x crazier staying home with them šŸ˜… If you disagree, your kids might be built different because ours have zero chill.

What do you think? Easier getting out or staying home?
I’m anti kids menus too šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

I notice that whenever I see ā€œkid-friendlyā€ things to do in a country on blogs, it’s something I could just do at home. I’m sorry, I’m not going to Istanbul to check out their indoor playgrounds…

I’m a ā€œfamily-friendlyā€ kinda person, that focuses on culture, history, people, food, and of course the outdoor adventure with kids šŸ˜Ž

Let’s be friends if that’s more your style! Follow and you can also check out my blog for recommendations on things to do in places you’re visiting!
I don’t know how many times I’ve heard people say it, but it’s definitely too many to count.

I’m not saying that you should go off and do crazy things with your kids. I’m just saying that you know your family, your abilities, and your children’s abilities better than a stranger.

Be sure you’re safe, prepared, and understand well what you’re getting into—but always follow your own instincts and never underestimate what children are capable of. šŸ”„

Experiencing DĆa de Muertos in Mexico was such an absolute privilege. It’s hard to put in words how profound it was, but I cried the entire weekend, so maybe that gives a bit of insight.

What a beautiful celebration to remember those who have passed. The songs, the alters, the flowers, the sentiments, the colors, the love—it was all incredible. I didn’t know I could love Mexico any more than I already did 🧔
This reel was inspired by the comment section of a recent article from about traveling with kids.

I was excited to see that someone wrote an article about this topic that I just love so dearly, but when I clicked on the comment section, it was chock full of big time haters. I think I live in an Instagram bubble of people that are always traveling and adventuring with their kids, so I’ve normalized it in my head and completely shifted my perception of reality.

This comment section got me back to my roots though! It reminded me of the reason I started this account in the first place. Maybe it’s not for everyone, but if you want to travel with your kids, you do you and drown out the noise—because dang it’s noisy out there.
I remember looking into traveling with my first born and just constantly finding myself in forums and facebook groups that would tell me how stupid and irresponsible someone would be to bring kids to wherever we were traveling.

Just gotta say…glad I didn’t listen to ā€˜em.
