Once you arrive in Saas-Fee head to Spielboden. Use your Saastal Card to get free cable car travel up to Spielboden.

The marmots love peanuts and carrots. You can buy peanuts for CHF 6 from the Saas-Fee tourist office or mountain restaurant at Spielboden.
🐿️When can I see marmots on this hike?
They hibernate during the Winter months so you have the best chance of seeing marmots from May-October.
🐿️Is it hard to find the marmots?
Remember to be respectful and quiet on the hiking trail so as not to spook the marmots. The Murmerli trail is clearly marked and if they feel safe the marmots will come to you.

Every course was perfection on a plate. The crab tart served with a spicy crab bisque to sip on was a standout. For the first time the desserts completely stole the show for me, from that delicious passionfruit and coconut sorbet pre-dessert right down to the warm Canelés de Bordeaux.

A countryside pub lunch in the Cotswolds is a must and it’s a bonus when there’s pie on the menu! We found this countryside pub in the little Cotswolds village of Little Somerford. The pub is called the Somerford Arms and it’s actually such a nice countryside pub find! Well done Chigsy 👏 I loved the cosy pub vibes and the menu was great!
Started with an nduja and pork scotch egg and then it was on to my epic beef and ale pie with mash. Did you see the size of that pie? Delicious!

At Hisa Linhart they specialise in showcasing the best of traditional Slovenian cooking with chef (one of Slovenian’s finest chefs) modern twist. You can order from the a la carte menu or choose their 5, 7 or 9 courses chefs tasting menu. We opted for the 9 course tasting menu (€145pp) with Slovenian wine pairing (€75pp). An excellent choice and great introduction to Slovenian food!
The service at Hisa Linhart exceeded the mark. The staff were so helpful and talked us through every dish so we could learn about the Slovenian culinary traditions.
My favourite dishes included the amuse bouche speciality served in an egg shell. Think a breakfast bite with a fine dining twist. We also loved the celeriac, apple and hazelnut dish showcasing what the chef can do with just three simple ingredients. I loved the use of different sauces in the same dish, everything came together so well and was exceptional.

TRAVEL ITINERARY
🚂 The chocolate train day trip departs from Montreux train station in the Montreux Riviera of Switzerland. It’s incredible to travel in the first class carriage of the vintage belle-époque Swiss train. You get a treat with some Cailler chocolate, a bread roll and hot chocolate drink on board.
🚌After about 45mins on the belle-époque train you’ll arrive at Montbovon to transfer to the chocolate train bus and head to your first stop
🧀 CHEESE FACTORY to learn all about cheese production and of course sample local Swiss cheese
🏰Next is the beautiful medieval town of Gruyères. I recommend grabbing an authentic Swiss lunch at with live music and a beautiful view over the mountains.
🍫Our last stop is the amazing Cailler Swiss chocolate factory in Broc where you can taste as much chocolate as you like!
