Such a wonderful conversation with and for our first event of 2026 last night. A genuinely moving, insightful conversation about queerness, family, race, shame and so much more. Thanks to all who came and to these two fabulous authors for their rigour, empathy, openness and humour.

We have a genuinely superb programme (one of our best ever) in the works for the first three months of this year and some tickets are already on sale, including events with and and Tareq Baconi.

We are also announcing an exciting new event this morning. Sign up to our mailing list before 11am to get the link in your inboxes before we post here. BookClub members, your link is already in your inboxes! We can't wait to see you at our events this year.
Disappoint Me is out in paperback and she's got a stunning new cover 📚

We're beyond excited to be welcoming to BookBar Chelsea on Monday to talk about it with none other than 🎙️ Tickets are still available so head to our website to get yours.

Disappoint Me is a novel about how we navigate shame about who we are, exploring how we love ourselves and one another, and whether we can ever escape the things in the past of which we are most ashamed. When corporate lawyer Max meets Vincent, she hopes to put her years of dysfunctional relationships and dysphoria behind her. But one night in Vincent’s past may threaten their happiness. Just like Bellies, Disappoint Me is full of the rich and addictive storytelling that makes Dinan one of our favourite authors.

An Evening with Tareq Baconi
Tuesday 17th February, 7pm

From the renowned Palestinian scholar, a memoir of political and queer awakening, of impossible love amidst generations of displacement, and what it means to return home. Both a love story and a coming-of-age tale that spans countries and continents, Fire in Every Direction balances humor and loss, nostalgia and hope, as it takes us from the Middle East to London, and from 1948 to the present. Tareq Baconi crafts a deeply intimate, unforgettable portrait of how a political consciousness—desire and resistance—is passed down through generations.
