A few things we learned during our trip that might help you plan yours:
🦁 The Masai Mara is worth the hype. If you can, stay at least 2-3 nights so you have multiple chances to spot wildlife.
🦏 Don’t skip Ol Pejeta Conservancy. It’s one of the best places in Kenya to see rhinos and was one of our favorite safari experiences.
🚲 Visit Hell’s Gate National Park. It’s one of the few places where you can cycle through a national park surrounded by wildlife.
🌴 Kenya isn’t just about safaris. Diani Beach has crystal-clear water, white sand beaches, and is the perfect place to relax after your safari days.
📅 We visited for 12 days, which felt like the perfect amount of time to combine safaris with beach time and time in Nairobi.

- Hire a car or quad, the last kilometre you’ll have to walk 👣
- Best time is around 11:00-12:00. The sun hits the cliffs perfectly and the blues pop like crazy. We even had it all to ourselves!
- Combine with Keri Lighthouse Restaurant (opens at 13:00h). The sunset here is amazing according to locals 😍
- There are no safety rails and it’s very steep, stay careful and keep an eye on kids/pets
