Il ponte scompare e al suo posto viene costruito un nuovo paesaggio, una grotta all’interno delle cave dalle quali vennero estratte le pietre calcaree utilizzate per costruire il ponte più storico della città nel 1607. Quando la si attraversa, anche dei suoni suggeriscono di essere all’interno di una caverna. L’enorme struttura è composta da tessuti con inchiostri a base d’acqua modellati da oltre 20 mila metri cubi d’aria. Dopo l’enorme “Ferita” a Palazzo Strozzi a Firenze e in altre città italiane, questa possiamo dire che continua la riflessione sull’isolamento sociale accentuato dalla pandemia.
L’opera è poi certamente un omaggio a Christo e Jeanne-Claude, che nel 1985 “impacchettarono” lo stesso ponte con migliaia di metri quadrati di tessuto.
