The spotlight must always be on the abusers. The lived experiences and numbers don't lie.
Post Separation Abuse can happen to anyone irrespective of social class, age, educational level etc, BUT IT MOSTLY HAPPENS TO WOMEN AND CHILDREN.
In Nigeria, presently, right before our very eyes, someone in the corridors of power is using state machinery to intimidate his ex wife and her loved ones, among other tactics, while withholding her children.
In USA, many examples, including the musician who is harassing his ex wife, withholding divorce, while threatening to harm her new partner.
Best belief, it happens to both rich, middle class, and poor women.
Abuse is a continuum!!!
If you are going through abuse (especially when it's not high profile - those ones tend to unravel in public), please document everything, lodge a complaint with the police, and cry out to the general public.

Sidenote - I think he got tired of the frequent reports of domestic violence.
Another time, a woman in our church was abused by her husband. Please, why did my dad tell the husband during service to meet him behind the church so they can fight man-to-man😮💨. What if the man took up the offer and ended up beating my dad😭😱? What if he always had my dad in mind and decided to fight😔? Anyways, my sister and I for fight sha, and if they beat both of us, we will console ourselves😭🫣.
When my dad found out I was going through abuse, he called my then partner (unbeknownst to me) and threatened him🤣. The number of times he's had to threaten men. Let's not talk about my mother, who is always giving out, following up, counseling, helping you to 'eye' 🤨😒your abuser among other actions 😫. She's the quiet one but shows up in big ways. She got blamed a lot for my dad's actions🤣😡
Someone met my parents recently and texted me saying, "No wonder." I laughed, but I am because they are. I am a mix of their personalities. People always say that it is because he only gave birth to girls that he is radical, ansofokwot. Girls no be pikin???.🙄

I have seen my parents take stands that people do not expect of clergy and teachers.
Human, yet they bring their best feet forward and try to use their influence, platforms, and spheres of influence well. They show me every day that you can serve God but still have sense, be it common or uncommon. My own superheroes in every sense of the word.

In 2017, I spoke at one of the stages of about how my father and family provided cover for me during my pregnancy.
I know it wasn't the easiest decision, especially with his profession and status in society, but man's put me first.
I am missing my parents extra today because of distance (one day he will agree to leave that church for months 😑),, but everything i am can be traced to the moment where they did not throw me away.
