The next night, she met up with the Spiegelworld team at Superfrico in the Cosmopolitan Hotel - dark blue, 1920s Berlin style.

Maxine’s in her cowgirl Era and her Arizona adventure began in true cowgirl style - hiring a Jeep with huge off-road tyres and setting off from Las Vegas to Meadview, just south of the Grand Canyon West.
The challenge started almost immediately when the internet disappeared, leaving her without SatNav or Google Maps. After a few wrong turns, a stop at what she thought was a motel (which turned out to be a care home!) and help from a kind doctor who printed her a map, she was finally back on track.
As the city faded behind her, the desert opened up into endless silence, mountain vistas, Joshua trees and roadside shacks, straight out of the Wild West. Just before sunset she arrived at her little wooden cabin in the desert - dusty, relieved and completely in awe.
The next day brought the mighty Grand Canyon West. “No words could describe this monolithic landscape and being immersed in nature’s timeline. Was this even real?”
Along the way she stumbled upon the incredible ‘Seven Magic Mountains’, danced to live soul funk outside an old saloon bar in Goodsprings, and survived a tyre blowout in the middle of nowhere thanks to the kindness of strangers - especially a man called Joe, who pulled dollars from his own pocket to pay for her repair.

For the month of April, she’s taken herself on a business trip to Las Vegas and a desert road trip through the Wild West - from Arizona to California and finally Nevada.
She’s in Vegas to meet clients extraordinaire, the amazing who have has been electrifying the Las Vegas Strip with signature smash-hit shows, including Absinthe, currently a resident show in the Green Room at Caesars Palace - we’re excited to read Maxine’s review!
Having recently bought a town called Nipton, are creating an experimental circus destination for creatives, artists and dreamers. Located on the edge of the Mojave Desert in California, just an hour from Las Vegas, the project brings together bold ideas, design and hospitality. With refurbishment also underway at one of Las Vegas’s top go-to restaurants, it’s an exciting time for creative collaboration and future opportunities.
In the meantime, Maxine’s soaking it all up. The contrast between the sparkle and hum of Vegas and the silent expanse of the desert - she’s been spending time with locals in Grapevine Mesa, on the western edge of the Hualapai Indian Reservation.
