I cannot put into words the feeling of being swept along for 26.2 miles on a wave of beautiful humanity. The heat, the lost toenails, the nearly fainting & the necking back Guinness mid way given to me by strangers.

I had the most perfect day, it didn’t go to plan, it never does in heat like yesterday, but London you fully took my breath away. 🥹🩷

LONDON MARATHON 2025 HERE I COME 🎉✨🩷
GUESS WHO IS RUNNING THE LDN 2025 MARATHON … THIS GIRLY 🤗
As many of you who have guessed through my stories (or not if you continuously skip them, which is fair play sir 🤝😂) you may have guessed it..I am training for something very cool.
I am BEYOND excited to share I’ll be running the London Marathon for an INCREDIBLE local charity, Hertfordshire Community Foundation; a charity determined to tackle social issues, help those in need and elevate small organisations that are determined to make a positive difference in the Community.
On a personal note;
As many of you know my struggles over the years with my eating disorder, running has given me this beautiful relationship with my body by ensuring I am constantly fuelling it, enjoying food and working towards continued positive mental health. #EatPastaRunFasta
I saw a marathon as one of those “wow I wish I could be one of those people” dreams I wasn’t completely convinced I was mentally strong enough to sign up for. But then things just felt a bit different, I woke up differently and bored of putting up semi unconscious/conscious barriers to just “why the fuck not” it. I wanted to be “one of those people” & I wanted to tick some cheeky little things off my bucket list.
& so here I am, 3 months away, running in Twister (1996 American disaster film directed by Jan de Bont) level storms, 5am starts, -4° temperatures and freezing my tits off, asking for your support. I have popped my fundraising link in my Bio (influencer style 🤣) or below if I could please ask you to spare even £1 to support the wonderful charity & my journey. Every donation, no matter the size, will give me that strength to get over that finish line and help to make a difference.
& if anything else, I am having to seriously cut down on Guinness so that’s worth at least a £5 ❤

9 years on from the start of my recovery from my Eating Disorder I confirmed my place in my lifelong dream, to race the 2025 London Marathon 🥹
9 years of realising the weight I had to lose was never on my body.
9 years of rewriting my future.
& 9 years of doing this for future me, so she gets to live the life that she deserves 🤍

To a woman who backs herself over anything else, who fights for light in the darkest of times and now knows no bounds to what she can achieve.
From personal to work; from hitting work milestones to running my first half marathon whilst on day 1 period (Superwoman level unlocked ofc 💖🌷) I have healthily learnt to redirect the wasted energy I was spending on self limitation and apply it to those things worthy of that energy and passion.
A reminder that recovery is about rediscovering your passions and purpose. That strength is what we gain from the darkness we survive and that you can most definitely turn that pain into power 💖

8 years to the day I found the strength, love and compassion for myself to begin my recovery journey. The very same love and compassion I always try to give to others, I chose to give to myself.

8 years on and recovery is still a choice. I still have the side effects of what anorexia left me with, I still sometimes flirt with my anorexia unconsciously & I still sometimes miss that feeling of emptiness in my belly.
But I ALSO still choose recovery, I still love that my journey to healing has not been an easy one, though a worthwhile one and I still stand by the fact that the very choice of recovery was simply the best decision I’ve ever made ❤️
