Les fleurs attirent également des insectes riches en protéines dont dépendent les oiseaux insectivores pour migrer et nourrir leurs petits.

Few birds in Canada spark the same excitement and anticipation as this striking finch. A bright, nomadic resident of boreal and mixed forests, Evening Grosbeaks occur across Canada, absent only from the most northern parts. These birds gather in large flocks to feast on seeds and berries for much of the year, switching to a mostly insect-based diet in summer (with a particular taste for Spruce Budworm).
Listed as a species of Special Concern, Evening Grosbeak populations have declined sharply since the 1970s. As irruptions bring them back into view this winter, there’s no better time to learn more about this remarkable bird.
